Anyone use 3M perfect it rubbing compound?

Thinking of using this time at home to do some paint correction and ceramic coating on all our cars. I have used polishing compound before that is entry level (meguires) but want to use something more professional now.

For the M3 I am thinking of using the 3m polishing and ultra fine polishing since the paint is pretty new. I have a 2008 r350 which could use some TLC and am thinking of using rubbing compound first. Will this be too abrasive? I won't be doing any sanding on any cars, and I'm not sure if rubbing compound is used as a post sanding step.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Do you have a DA buffer? If so, start conservative and work your way up to where you get good results. I haven’t used 3M stuff. If you want some good product reviews, check autogeek. Very knowledgable people reviewing there.

If you want to try some great compounds and polishes, check Sonax. They make great stuff.

I've been using the 3M PerfectIt products for years with great success. On dark color cars, follow up the rubbing compound with the polishing compound for dark colors for an amazing result.

I use a portal-cable orbital buffer with the 3M foam waffle pads.

Ive never gotten the 3M line to work as good as say

Meguiars 105, 110, D300
Menzerna 4500, 3800, 2500, fg400, sc300
Sonax Perfect finish
with varying pads. Those products will do 90% of cars for us. there are a few occasions where we scratch our heads as to what else to try, but that involves sanding at that point.

Thanks guys. I finally ordered yesterday. I went with the menzerna 400, 2500 and 3500.

The 400 is for my wife's 2008 r350. Not sure I will use that on my car since the paint is not bad. I will probably try the 2500 and see how that works on my car first before going to the 400.

I also bought crystal serum light and exo v4, so this will keep me busy.
