Need Help: Short Circuit to Ground, Backlighting
Hi All,
I wired in the seat-emblem lights from ModEmporium, and seem to have shorted the backlighting. So far, only the lights around the center console, armrest, and door lock aren't lighting up. I've pulled up stats and attempted procedures in ISTA and Tool32, but can't seem to understand how to get the module to turn back on. Already checked the fuses, and had to replace one in the FEM because the terminals were dark, but the line didn't break. Resetting in Tool32 fails because that specific module has been turned off, although all other interior lights work just fine (doors, iDrive, dash, footwells, roof buttons, everything else). I haven't reached any max attempts on the circuit according to Tool32, as it errors in "255" (unit is shut-off) during reset of the counter. Anyone know what this procedure means in ISTA? "After a repair has been completed, deactivation must be rest through a diagnostic job in the procedure. A terminal change (Terminal 15 > Terminal R > Terminal 30 > Terminal R > Terminal 15) must then be performed and the light must be switched on so that the corresponding output can be reactivated". What is or how do you perform: (Terminal 15 > Terminal R > Terminal 30 > Terminal R > Terminal 15) - FEM 8042C5 Backlighting Terminal 58 has short circuit to ground Much appreciated! |

Unfortunately not yet, it seems like a series of switching the ignition on/off, while locking with the key fob? The Terminal R is the confusing part since our keys are fobs

Woo! There’s a shop down in SD that fixed this with ISTA. Don’t know what he did different when I attempted.
Would recommend Steve’s Beemer & Benz off of Banks St. For now, I disconnected these seat badges, will figure out a better way to tap into a fuse in the trunk. This was way too risky. |
