That's a valid point too.
I don't think total sales volume this time will be indicative of the G8x success as a whole. COVID and the chip shortages we all know is still around.

In a few years we will know how the G8x is seen. Probably as a very good car with an extremely divisive design.
I agree, but the true haters won't look at it as rationally and objectively.

Just saw a 992 Sport Classic mule. Even in flat black and dirty, the ducktail was present and it looked effin great.

Pure ICE is dead along with manuals.
New M cars will even have the horrendous EV iPad gauge screen.

New M5 will be a hybrid and so will next gen M3/4.

I hope new M2 will be great as its last of the pure ICE M cars.

I'd rather have a 997 GT3 over the newest and greatest stuff, so this Sport Classic thing is my favourite 992 yet.

Yes, the ICE M car is dead once the current G8x generation goes away.

The M2 and the 3.0 CSL Hommage are the only ICE models in the pipeline. The Hommage, I bet, is the real icing on the cake and nail in the coffin. It's a 6-speed M4 CSL so... yeah. They may make an M2 CS/CSL, but I reckon the 3.0 is the swan song.

But, obviously, the Hommage car barely counts because it's basically unobtanium - both price- and availability-wise. 2x SF90 Stradale's but much more limited.

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched. Lots of things can change between now and then. I just don't see the point in championing sales to be bad. It seems unnecessarily spiteful to me and more about personal pride than the actual car.

Best comparison will be post LCI, since the auto market for the last few years has been insane(w/ Kia's selling over msrp). As we head into a possible recession in 2023 and durable goods demand waning, we will get a good sense of how desired this generation is. Shortages and supply issues will get better.

Ok got them put on super fast. Absolutely perfect fitment, kept the 10mm front and 5mm spacers on rear. Running 265/30/20 and 285/30/20 so height should be on point now. Slight rubbing on inner fender liner, will go back tomorrow for the easy heat gun fix. Just need to get some Brembo GT kits in red and we’re set. Blue colored brakes gotta go!

I personally like the blue calipers as they seem more M to me. Not that I want to associate with the brand as of late..

How's it perfect fitment if you have to resort to using spacers and running narrow 285s in the rear... and it still rubs, lmao

@AlterZgo

Finally did it. Flashed it today. Holy shit. Unbelievable amount of power when you get on it. It drives like stock until you go then it goooooesssss, but like in a controllable way. It's nuts. Unlike any tune I have ever experienced. Like it came like this from the factory.

On the sport exhaust always open - completely changes the character of the car. More Motorsport feeling with the Akra. Love it.

Also, my neighbors will surely love no cold start.

Rears are fine, will probably try a 305 back there when it needs new tires in a couple years. I just left the spacers on as I like the flush look, probably wouldn't even rub in the front without them. Passenger's front rubs a tiny bit on lock while turning, known issue with F80s and can be fixed in mere minutes with a heat gun which will be taken care of tomorrow.

NEAR perfect fitment better choice of words for sure.
