Hey Guys,
i own a F80 Production Date 03/2018. MY Headlights seem to work properly, but compared to other BMW Cars with this feature, the performance of my M3 is really Bad. Many times its just an continously On and Off with no meaning in the head light "steering" of the Headlight. I did no Coding or anything, since it is all activated from Factory. I'm thinking about updating the car with IST-P, maybe they updated some Values ? |

Hey,
thanks for your Answer. Which Modules should i update ? I'm thinking about updating my ISTA+ Programm and then do the Update on my Own. Is there Information if the function works better after a precise I-Step (Or Time) ? |

Umm. I have an '18 F80 built in 10/17. Upgraded from a '15 F80 with LEDs. Coded this on my '18 and it works perfectly fine compared to the '15. Tunnel of light clearly follows the car in front of me. In 1 year I have not been flashed. The tunnel clearly is below the car in front, not even up onto their trunks...They work EXACTLY as my '15 did. I detect no difference. I know BMW builds cars like software companies constantly update software with new or different hardware on cars being introduced on an almost monthly basis...maybe mine has "old" equipment?
Although I'd happily trade my '18 ZCP with working light tunnels for anyone else's M3CS I will say that on the '15 and the '18 they do not work well on very curvy roads or hilly roads where you crest a peak and there's an oncoming car there, or come around a turn to an oncoming car, but my other cars with auto high beams don't do well in that situation either. Because of that I have my NGHB set to turn on at 52 MPH, below that speed they work as regular auto high beams, then on higher speed roads I get better visibility further out. I love driving on highways and the right light really illuminating the side of the road way ahead.

Thanks for posting your point of view on the situation! I am missing exactly this clear light tunnel! Yesterday I drove long in a not well lit street far away from a city and above the threshold of 51mph (don't know the Speed in km/h) it's not working well, it switches between High and Low Beam a lot, as if the Car is not sure what to do in a Situation and "trying" different light positions. I will contact my BMW Dealer for an Update I guess |

Just remember when you are coding this remove 5AP and 8S4 from the active FA list and I had to code FEM_BODY, KAFAS, and both FLE modules. The shortcut makes all the line item changes to the modules, but you still have to enter each module individually, apply the macro, and then code the module - so a total of 4 of them. I think if you leave in 5AP and 8S4 it won't work correctly, as I did that on my '15 the first round. But sounds to me on this thread that the hardware has changed since the early '18s. If you want to reset your car, and in the US, add 5AP and 8S4 back to your active FA list and VO code those modules...that will get them back to stock, but also erase anything else you may have coded.

Seems to be a lot of debate which US cars are capable of being coded for anti-dazzle to work exactly as BMW intended. Is this driven by build date, hardware, software, or a combination thereof?
I have a 2017 F80 w/ ZCP ZDB ZEC ZLP (build date 9/16). Could I assume my adaptive full LED headlights with auto high beams could be coded and would function properly or is there more to it than that? My window sticker listed -Variable Light Decoding -Decoding for no-dazzle hgh bm Without getting into the coding itself, my understanding is that I would essentially just reverse the decoding and that would be all. Is that correct? |

How did he get yours to work?? What hardware do you have? Mine was done in April and was useless from day 1. I ended up coding it myself back to USDM specs. |

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Well I take back my earlier comment about the hardware. Your driver's side is different in a few ways. Short one chipset and definitely different circuitry. PaulM sent me pics of his lights last night and both sides are mirror images of each other. This looks almost like it was ground down and redone. |

It also may be interesting to note that the left headlight seemed to work fine with GFHB coding. It was the right one that had all of the leakage in the forward regions. |
