some advice: if you a renting a car before your delivery you should consider getting it from Europcar, there is an office right next to the Welt where you could drop the rental off.

The Leonardo hotel is a bit far but do-able but the best hotel to stay in for location is the four points by sheraton hotel

Not renting the car and just taking the BMW complementary shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Then just taking the subway up to the Welt the next day. I figure I will pick up a day pass for our entire group.

How bad are the bugs?

Did you need to have a chip credit card to get gas at the gas stations? (I have two credit cards that have chip and no foreign transaction fee)

I forgot all about the shuttle. I have had a lot of bugs on my bumper and they get stuck in some really difficult spots to clean as well. chip cards or regular american cards will due, just keep change with you at all times, a lot of gas stations require 50-70cents to use the bathroom

Look at all these bugs on my bumper this is from driving from Nurburg to Geneva and to Aix en provence... What product do you use to remove bugs by the way?

Reminds me of our 2006 ED with the 550i. It was a bug killing machine. We had to clean it at every refuel.

Thanks for this tip. I've been tempted numerous times to pull out the USB stick so I can charge my phone, but after this I'll make sure not to touch it!

Yes. Put my android phone in airplane mode then enabled blue tooth. Crappy radio stations in the alps.

Chips were mixed bag. I did not have a chip card and had to go inside frequently and got screwed at s few toll booths that didn't take bills.

Parking lot in nice did not take cards without chips and the machine could only take 1 bill (wtf France)

My cousin who lives there told me they pretty much phased out "swipe" cards because it's easy to take info out of and steal someone's card info.

Just had my ED. Was expecting a USB stick for the euro maps, but mine came loaded into the hard drive so no USB stick. Bonus I guess.

Picked up a 6sp MG M3. Love it so far.
However stupid me, I have curbed the same rim twice already.

Ah well, not going to fret over it and instead enjoy the trip. Plus, I've read that they fix these kind of things before redelivery.

Our E60 had a scratch on the bumper and a door paint chip from parking in Italy (very small spaces). The VDC fixed everything like it was new.
