Smile HEX Tuning Features Only or Hex Tuning Stage One?

Hey guys! First time using Bimmerpost!

It is a very hard decision for me to choose between Hex stage one and HEX Tuning Features Only. I had a 2013 328i which I did Dinan Stage 2(or 3 I forgot) but it ended broken. It was because of drivetrain malfunction, engine seized. (I am a newbie to cars.sorry for the poor explanation). However, the question I wanted to ask is that everyone knows there is a risk with any aftermarket tunes. The thing I don't understand is that is there any risk to install the HEX Tuning Features Only since it has no power gains,if yes ,is it better to do HEX Tuning ZCP Performance and Features? I am sorry again, about my poor languages, please anyone can help me? Appreciated!!!

Welcome qq!

The risk is minimal, if at all, but it's always good to take
the time to educate yourself on the pros and cons before
making any modifications / upgrades to a brand new car.

If warranty is a major concern we typically suggest waiting
until you are certain that you will purchase and keep the car,
versus modifying a leased vehicle or one that you hope to sell
or trade in with a CPO in the near future.

"Features Only", ZCP Level, CS Level, etc... are offering
OEM power levels using nearly identical calibration strategies
to their factory counterparts.

While BMW cannot void your entire warranty simply due to
the addition of non-OEM software, it does give them the
ability to deny engine/drive-train related warranty claims
with a strong argument on their side.

Non-factory software is non-factory software, and one of the
reasons that the OEM manufacturers charge more for higher
level models is so they can properly account for the additional
costs associated with development, support, and the additional
amount of potential service and wear conditions associated with
making more power.

That being said, we're back to the fact that risk of damage or
failure simply due to the addition of software is incredibly rare
in the first place.

Even with our Stage ONE software which is generously adding
60-70WHP & 90-100WTQ, we meticulously test and validate
all of our ECU software on the dyno and out on the street until
we feel confident in the products ability to perform safely and
consistently under varying conditions.

At the end of the day it really comes down to whether you want
peace of mind under all potential unforeseen issues that may
arise during your period of ownership, or are you looking for
the maximum enjoyment w/ optimal performance from your
vehicle while understanding all the nuances associated with
modifications, and the very rare "what if" scenarios.
