DME FULL

Good afternoon y'all,

I have been having issues with my f80 for the last few days, so I decided to bring it to the dealership. Unfortunately, I learned that my DME is full. I remember seeing something on the forums a while ago about being able to reset your dme, but I have no clue what to do. I don't want to spend a couple thousand dollars for a new one but I need my car back asap.

There is no such thing as a DME full - at least never heard of it.

Do you mean DME fail or do you mean that you have hit the DME flash counter limit?

Is your car tuned? If yes, have you tried to reset the tune back to stock?

Bootmod3 (a tuning platform) does not increase the flash counter, so chances of reaching the counter limit should be slim. I believe that most other tuning platforms are also resetting the flash counter (or not incrementing after flashing). I don’t know what the counter limit is, but going purely from an electronics flash memory read/write cycles, it would still be pretty high.

Show it to some tuning specialist in your area, and they might be able to diagnose the issue and avoid you having to get a new DME.
