Digital license plate anyone?

Would anyone be interested in a digital license plate by Reviver? They are approved for CA and AZ registered cars only, but are 50 State street legal.

2 year warranty on the battery, with a 5 year battery life. Once the battery dies, they will send a replacement. You're able to have emergency messages on the plate in case if the vehicle or plate is stolen, etc. If the vehicle or plate is stolen, they will send a replacement as well. You will just need to provide a police report.

This is a really, really cool idea. I'm on the sidelines for now as I have to imagine these will cause issues with the police until they're more widely distributed, but I really like it!

Question however, do they glow at night? That would concern me, unless they dim themselves so much as to not be seen directly?

I met a guy at a car event in Orange County a few months ago that had one of these on his M2. I ended up behind him in line to get in and noticed it immediately because it's distinctively different than a standard plate. Parking control had me park next to him so I got to talk to him about it and he demonstrated the app. He wasn't affiliated with the company, just a techie guy who wanted the latest tech.

When I looked up the price online I immediately decided this was way more than I would pay for something like that. I mean, it's cool and all, but it's not $900 plus recurring monthly fees cool. And I'm a techie guy. It's not even $850+ cool. I would pay maybe $200 for this, one-time cost only, no recurring fees. But that's just me.

What happens when driving thru area with no 4G signal for the plate?
Any real world testing data and videos of it working in 100F+ degree heat and 0F sub-zero freezing temps?

$800 for a plate? Could see if its a one time charge that includes registration/title for the vehicle but not to replace a piece of metal. Add to it a subscription fee? NO thanks...didn't they learn their lesson with BMW CarPlay for pay subscription that everyone hated?
