M4 - $hitty Horn

I rarely use my horn but this week after 5 months of owing the F80 M4 - I noticed that this strong car has a weak a$$ horn like from a low-end rental car.

Any upgrade suggestions ?.. I was looking at the the train horn option (JK).

Not only is the horn weak but you really need to put a ton of pressure on the airbag to use it.

What I don't get is why the m3/4 horn is different to the other 3 series. My 2016 340 was a standard horn with less pressure required to use it.

Doesnt it have a two-stage horn?

Alternatively, you can yell at them aggressively

The M's have a common weakness of dual-stage horns and the low-end going out - get it repaired at dealership. Mine did that and sounded like a clown car - it was embarrassing, but the next week stopped working altogether. Warranty replaced and sounds perfect again.

Must be something wrong with it. The one on mine is seriously loud. I love it. However, unless your windows are rolled up, then you cannot hear it much.

This. If it sounds like a clown car, one of the horns is broken.

Get one of those train horns retrofitted. They seem to work well at alerting others of your presence. Plenty of YouTube videos on this.

there are two horns (one low pitch, 1 high pitch). one is on the left and one is on the right, behind the front bumper. you might be able to access them if u remove front fender liners. if it sounds funny, one of them is inop. have someone activate the horn while u carefully check if its coming from the left or right side.

You're so right. Back when I bought my F80 in 2016, I was surprised to find such a weak horn. Honestly, I think such a crazy car should have a good horn to try to prevent an accident if you are going at high speed. So, I had to replace it, but you know, I didn't want a rudimentary horn that I could get from another BMW. My brother told me to try and change the horn from my older F10 and see how it works. I decided to get one from hornblasters.com as I wanted something different. So, I have a horn that sounds like a duck, a very loud duck.
