Downpipes install
Hi everyone. I live in Michigan, and have been getting some estimates on swapping out my downpipes on a '16 f83 for an aftermarket set and the installation prices I've been getting are far above the posts I've seen here. The cheapest I've gotten is 1150 for the labor and more then twice that from the dealer. I read that it was a 2 to 3 hour job and shouldn't be more then $500. I asked on the regional thread but didn't get any replies. Is 1150 outrageously high for a downpipe swap or am I missing something? And if anyone has any places to suggest in Michigan or Indiana it would be much appreciated!

Yes that's high. I wouldn't pay more than 600 just for Downpipes installed. If you're ever in Southern Indiana hit up Alex at Jericho Motorsport. They are honest and do good work.

You guys in LA have it easy, in the midwest there are not many shops so they can pretty much charge whatever they want. I just paid $900 for a lowering springs and midpipe install.

Dropped a bunch of inquiries now that I'm in Indiana and every tuner shop that has replied has told me "oh no, we can't do that. It breaks emissions laws!" Haven't even gotten a quote yet from any place local. Going to drop Jericho Motorsports a line and see what he says. If I have to make a day out of it driving across the state then at least I will finally be able to get it done.
