CCB booster more powerful, no iron booster more powerful, no there's a servo shared with x, y, & z (v doesn't share) that can be adjusted. Friction this, friction that, it was because of weight or blah blah. Seemed to end without a consensus on this topic. If someone with the iron rotors doesn't need to change the booster then does someone with ccb need to replace the booster if they went to the iron rotors? Or is this a coding issue? Anyway, not having to replace the booster makes this a very attractive alternative over the ccb retrofit for me!

Two different boosters, one for CCB and another for iron rotors. Coding is for the ECU to know which rotors are in the car so particular booster works as designed with the DSC.
The OEM CCB retrofit includes the dedicated booster and requires coding. The logic is that the opposite must be true - having CCB and swapping to iron rotors requires the iron rotors booster and coding for proper function. Quote:

Local bmw shop did the install. Got it done very quick. Only thing was the backing plates are quite different front and rear, so we just removed them. Shouldn’t cause any issues. $5k for the full setup used with a few hundred miles. Install was a few hundred.

Anybody knows if the M2 competition calipers, the CCB calipers and the blue M5 6-pot calipers are all the same? Visually they look the same
I want to fit the M2 competition disks on CCB calipers, but there is a 2mm difference in width (steel rotors 2mm less width).

Thanks. So this should be PnP. Have the normal brakes now and will change to CCB calipers and M2 comp. disks. Anything special to be careful for?

Sorry for the confusion, thought I was replying to the guy who asked about M5 calipers...
For F8x CCB & F87 6 pots they come with the radial bracket mounted - so it’s plug and play on F8x chassis with F87 M2 comp 400mm rotors. For F10 M5 caliper, this caliper does not feature a radial bracket, so it would need a custom one making to suit the F8x hub and then could be used with the 400mm F87 rotor. |

One guy did a DIY Retrofitt from normal steel caliper to CCB caliper and he told that there is a 2mm offset towards inside of the CCB caliper. So that means you need something to put in between the braket and the caliper to come 2 mm out.
He did it with a M5 rotor. But the diameter and thickness are same like of the M2 Comp except the hub diameter |

The reason for the 2.5mm offset was because the M5 iron rotors do not have the same offset as the CCB rotors (and now the M2 ZCP rotors). For the caliper to be centered in the rotor, a 2.5mm shim was installed to the CCB brackets to move the calipers towards the inside of the car and center the rotor with the calipers.
That M5 rotors with CCB calipers mod is moot now with the M2 ZCP rotors in the market. Quote:
