Question 2020 F82 in Drive Mode stays in 5th and 6th gear at 100kph

Hi: I picked up my new(to me) 2020 F82 and drove home for 2.5 hours on highway.I had transmission in Drive mode and it kept changing gears from 5th to 6th,depending on the traffic and it stayed mainly in 6th and that was at 120kph and 3Krpm,so in order for me to get into 7th gear,I would have to be going way too fast....so my question is,was safe to run the car in 6th gear all the way home....(maybe too late now?!)
After some thinking,I had the Drive Logic position in the #3 position,so maybe I should have it in #2 spot for running on the highway?Thanks,H50

3k rpm for 2.5 hours did not harm your engine. However, I can’t help you on the drivelogic of the auto mode because I’ve driven my DCT F82, and E92 M3s, exclusively in manual mode. Still surprised it would not use 7th gear on the highway to improve fuel mileage. You’d still have decent throttle response with the torque peak being between 1.8-2.2k rpm and, in auto mode, it’ll downshift to a lower gear based on sudden % change in throttle position (engaging kickdown by going full throttle it’ll find the lowest possible gear without exceeding redline but remember if you do engage kickdown, it’s automatically switched you to manual mode).

I think I will try #2 setting on the Drive Logic...I think I was in #3. when it wouldn;t go into 7th gear.
7th gear would have been achieved, but I would have been going way over the speed limit, maybe 160 or 180kmh.Thanks,H50

I managed to get the DCT to shift into a higher gear(7th) by using number 2 on the drive logic instead of where I had it(#3),so now at 100kmh 7th gear is functioning, which I guess is more efficient and it revs at 2k instead of 3k with the #3 setting.H50
