High flow catted down pipe (200cel)
Hi all
I am wanting change my stock downpipes to a high flow catted one. Does anyone know if 1. The fumes will be eliminated, this is the main reason for me not going for a decatted one 2. I am running an AWE non resonated exhaust, will this cause drone? 3. I have tuned my car with alpinemss stage 2+ but for stock downpipe, if I change to the high flow decatted dp, do I still use this tune? Or can I opt for the tune for the decat dp, since there is better flow now. I am better off going for a decat pipe and resonated pipe for the awe exhaust in terms of cost, power and proven facts. However the fumes is what really puts me off. Thanks |

I beg to differ. I couldn't tolerate it so I swapped out from my Akra DP to AR catted 200 CEL DP. You'll notice the fumes at a stop with windows down. I typically like driving with windows down so couldn't bare it. Catted DP eliminates the smell once they are warmed up.

1- catted will eliminate the fuel smell
2- Do not use catless + non res catback 3- You should be able to keep the same map on stock turbo since you are getting high flow catted DP. Best to check with your tuner.

I am also thinking to go catted dp or back to stock dp. Right now i have akra dp and akra full exhaust. In my opinion is a little bit too loud too. Maybe i am getting old

I currently have catless downpipes, and would prefer to do less damage to the environment and reduce some of the stench (my wife hates the catless DP smell) Thanks! ~David

I have these mounted right now. It was a pretty tight fight and I had to put a tac weld between the downpipe and the flange but besides that they do smell a big during a cold start but the smell goes away pretty quickly. And they also sound great
