Sticky Door Handle
Does anyone else have this problem? Wondering what the cause is/was so I don't repeat it if I order a replacement. Thanks.

That's unfortunately pretty typical on these BMW's, the door handles get worn down and "sticky".
The best solution (save for replacing the entire handle) is using a cover. I ended up going with this brand and the fitment was spot on. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0827J9PM8...UTF8&psc=1

You can get the whole handle pretty cheap on amazon, a few of us have done it

You can use gummi pfledge and it will keep it from getting sticky but it will be oily. I close my door grabbing the side pocket. I bought a set of plastic replacements that dont have the rubber coating. Will replace the stock ones when the rubber rubs off.

Seems pretty common. Mine was replaced under warranty and has held up since.

Just fyi I ordered from the link above except I attempted to order the "carbon fiber" version, instead I received all black (actual product sticker showed it was carbon fiber). So I returned and reordered to the same result. Haha

It fits and functions perfect and it's barely visible. Also, I'm not materialistic, so the fact that it's plastic doesn't bother me to the degree that it might bother you. :P

These are probably the best replacement fix I have ever purchased for a car. Perfect fit for my F83 2016 Convert M4. Took 15 seconds to install and you can't even tell it is not OEM.
Now I need to replace the cracked seat emblems without removing the headrest. Looks like the old plastic emblem can be opened to show the circuit board giving a little more wire to splice together for the new ones. |

There was just a Reddit post about this! Good looking out on the Amazon link. My 28k mile 2015 is even starting to "gum" a little bit. I ordered the black covers.

I just replaced mine with an oem piece. Pain in the ass! In hindsight I would just do the aftermarket ones now that include screws to place from the inside of the door. The oem one I had to heat up a 3/8 socket extension and make new plastic welds to mimic the factory installation.
