I can try but not sure it will do it justice. The sound is just so smooth and crisp, I turned burbles off too so it's just clean and aggressive when I really get on it.

Any updated thoughts/experience with the Valvetronic EL full catback system? I'm currently on stock ZCP with the AA single mid. Kinda looking for a new sound.

Valvetronic currently on-sale, so a bit tempted. Vids sound pretty good. Plan to stay catted.

Thx

Based on what I’ve seen here I wouldn’t go near valvetronic. They royally screwed up a couple people’s EL exhausts on this board. It’s in the EL thread somewhere.

Just swap in the AA EL mid - it’ll bolt right up to your current set up and give you a completely different sound.

Thanks, appreciate that. A cheaper option as well. May just go this route

Is single mid high pitched or bassy?

I like the character of MPE that it screams up top and don't want to lose that.

Fabspeed's midpipe bolts on to MPE with no cutting required. That's the only one that I came across when doing my research on a midpipe for my MPE. Tone is a little deeper from the AA EQ length from what I could make out, but search on the forum and you will find a few threads on that.

It's a little deeper vs EL. Main reason I went that route to try to combat the rasp.

I absolutely love my Dinan valved rear section for a DD. Pretty tame in Comfort but noticeably more presence in Sport. Also looks better than stock from the rear. 40k on mine now.

Oh the MPE still screams up top with single mid but it sounds better and deeper down low.

Hey folks…. I just bought an M4 Comp with stock exhaust and akrapovic decatted DPs … any advice / thoughts on the easiest / cheapest way to remove rasp and get a deeper tone?

Original/catted downpipes and single mid pipe.
Alternatively a resonated mid.

Thanks for the advice. I want to keep the Akra DPS so will look for a good resonated mid.

Can you get resonated singles or should I focus on a resonated ELs?

If all you want is to reduce rasp, then a AA single will do that (you could even opt for resonated pipes for an insanely smooth/raspless tone). If you want to change the underlying exhaust tone, then you’ll need to go EL - in your case probably EL with resonated mids for a rasp free setup.

The important thing here is that rasp and tone are not the same thing, it’s just helpful on the front end to know what you really want to change.

As long as you want a deeper tone, you should go with a single mid.

Single reduce some rasp alone but if you want it cleanly filtered you need a resonator midpipe, which would be a resonated single midpipe.

EL isn't making the sound you already have deeper, it changes the sound to something else.
If you like that EL sound or not is for you to decide, personally I don't and it's a more restrictive exhaust system as far as I've heard.

Thanks guys… really good advice

I'll start with the resonated single mid I think and go from there…. do they all mate up with the comp muffler or will I need to chop things up?

More economically, of course, the Equal Length midpipe with stock pipes really is the perfect package. I have a non-ZCP M4 and love the sound, and think the ZCP muffler sounds just a bit better. MPE sounds too tinny personally, some like it, over a YouTube video it's not my favorite.

This video with the EL and Meistershaft GT axleback tho... very tempting

If somebody wants to completely remove rasp, the best way would be a single turbo setup with a log manifold. It would make the S55 sound much more like a N55/B58.

If anyone in the Bay Area is interested in hearing what a REMUS rear section with resonated AA equal length midpipe sounds like in person, I'm charging $10 per rev up to 3k RPM.

I’m running ARM DPs, vrsf single mid pipe to a comp muffler. To me, sport mode sounds great BUT I’m looking to get a little more deeper/aggressive tone.

Therefore, Remus has me itching to purchase their muffler. Anyone make a similar transitions? Thoughts?
