M4 Pricing in This Marktet

Hi, new to the forum, but hoping for some assistance on pricing with knowledge of prices now and also historical to see if waiting makes sense.

I'm looking at a black/black 2018 F82 w/26,500 miles on it and seller is looking to get $52k for it. All options except ZCP and extended leather. The car has been in two "minor" accidents based on carfax.

I know prices are elevated, but any guidance on what a good number is for this car would be greatly appreciated.

If you can wait, then wait or overpay for the exact spec you want. Also, those "two minor" accidents, were they repaired correctly? This may also be a downside should you sell or trade-in the vehicle in the future. Did you consider getting a PPI?

kwikshift Thanks for the reply, yes, going to get a PPI, and agree long term potential effects of the carfax accidents.

What do you think a fair price is on this car? Assuming repaired correctly, etc.

It's normal for this current market.

If I were you I'd get one with zero accident and if it means to sacrifice for bit more mileage then that's ok. These cars are extremely reliable, few thousand miles difference is negligible on the price.

Although you should be aware that just because a carfax shows zero accident, it shouldn't translate to it has never been in an accident. You always have to inspect and check for clues that there has been work done or not.

I have seen 2018 F82 M4 go for 55k with like 30k miles with zero accidents on the Cars for Sale section on here. You can offer 52k and see where it goes. Also, black on black is extremely common spec for BMW's in general. It's not hard to find good deals on this spec.

I always try to consider value when I sell/trade it in. There are so many sticklers on accidents and the dealer will definitely ding you on trading it in. Doesn't matter minor or not, no comp and 2 accidents on record, $52k is hard to justify.

I have my f82 for sale if interested. Not undercutting but just reaching out if you're looking for a clean carfax m4. Post is on my profile. Thanks

Hi, I think the price is fair considering the elevated market. Low mileage is appealing, but I am not a fan of buying a car with prior accidents. it will affect resale...something to think about if you sell down the road...good luck!

2 years ago, that price wouldn't be good. Nowadays in this market, its not bad.

I personally wouldn't get a used vehicle with an accident, let alone 2. But if it looks solid in person and maybe even checked out by a third party mechanic, go for it.

You have someone in CA willing to buy it? That's a lot you should be all over that. If you don't have a buyer and you're asking if that's what you should list it for I would say unlikely to get that high.

fair price. depends on spec of the car too and if you have the manual, edc, cf roof, 19s, and led headlights.
