Unhappy iDrive won't turn on (2015 f82)

Hello all,

I recently had my car (2015 f82) in storage for about 8 months due to an overseas move. When I got my car back, everything seems to be fine except the entire iDrive system won't turn on. Everything else seems to work fine, there are no errors on the dash, and yes, I know the power button is the volume button.

Does anyone have any bright ideas that might help? I'm about to go check some fuses to see if something blew, but beyond that I don't know where to begin troubleshooting. I'm really hoping I'm missing some easy reboot sequence or something that I couldn't find in my searching.

I should still be under warranty, but I'm in Korea with an insane work schedule, so if there's anything I could attempt to do myself I'd like to go that route first.

Thank you in advance for your help.

My 2015 M4 was in storage for 3 months. When I first started the car, the iDrive display came on but quickly turned off and displayed "No Signal." After about 5 minutes, it rebooted and has worked fine since then. So, not exactly your issue but I have seen it happen personally.

Try resetting/rebooting the iDrive by pushing and holding the power/volume button for 30s or longer, turn the car on and wait a bit. Is your battery ok, was the car connected to LiFePO4 charger the whole time?

If nothing works, you'll need diagnostic software (Rheingold) or obviously a trip to the dealer.
