They look horrible.
Those are the wheels they had on the test mules. Just painted black. I thought they actually looked good.

Maybe in black...those wheels look way too small for this car.

I actually think the 18's have a much better design than the 19's. However, they really are too small.

I don't care about how the 18" wheels look, I care about whether my winter setup will work with the new car or if I wasted 2.5 grand last year I wish someone from BMW just came out and clarified this. Surely this cannot be that much of a top secret information, can it?

The 18s and the wheel gap will be really ugly.

Now it's official.
18 inch wheel from configurator.

I think I will stick with 19.
This wheel would probably look better if finish was in gun metal or black.

Uh, no. The 18's won't have any more gap than the 19's. The overall diameter of the tire remains the same. However, the amount of wheel goes down. So you have more black, which makes the gap look larger, but it really isn't.

I'd say analyse the real life high quality mule pictures with these rims before dumping them. Configurators make everything look like sh*t.

95% chance your setup wi be just fine, IMO. E9X wheels seen on many test vehicles.

I can't see them putting 18s on the M4 as stock. Even the 335is comes with 19s. I just don't see it.

You must not know BMW. They will, at least in the US.

I guess that US is a more sport oriented market (more manual transmission and 18" track wheels sold). My guess is that the track cars will be purchased with 6sp, cloth interior and 18s.

Just got back from Detroit. Here are close up pics of the wheels in both black and silver:

Can't say I'm really a fan of either

Think I'm going silver. Not digging the two-tone black.

You can't plastidip that half black one or whatever that is. The regular one is a much more maintainable option.

Someone said that the chrome on the black wheels is a black chrome, but it sure doesn't look that way in any of the pictures. It looks more like a light gray chrome. Can anyone that has seen the wheels in person confirm the color?

I wouldn't call it black chrome. It is more like a polished black in the center and the outer color is more like a dark gray. At certain light angles you may think it is black but it really isn't. Although I would say that the black wheels look slightly better in person than they do in pictures, but personally I think they would look bad on most exterior car colors. I think it could work on a gray car or mineral white.

I plan on going to the DC auto show this weekend so I'll see how the wheel colors look on silverstone and yas marina blue cars.
