F32/F82 Tail Light Swap Issue (F32LCI T2)

So I went to swap my LCI tail lights from my F32 to my F82 after reading everywhere they would fit, but the guide "pin" would not line up on the inside lights (I even contacted EAS where I got them and they said they were direct swap).

The pin seemed to be about 1/8 too high but rather then trying to sell them and buy a new set of F82 LCI's I ended up just cutting them off, with the intention of moving the pin with some epoxy.

So far they seem to be holding up ok without the pin but I can tell they are like 1/16th of an inch high on the outsides where the guide pin would keep them in place. Not sure if it was an issue with the P/N (F32LCI T2 LI) or anyone know?

F32 and f82 inner taillight not compatible. I had the same issue and caused the water leak inside taillight and trunk.

All you did is what I did exactly 4 months ago passed though rain season without issue after cutting off the guide pins.

F32 shares the same inner as F83, but not F82.

F82 inner part number:

63217443131
Rear light in trunk lid, left

F32/F83 inner part number:

63217426053
Rear light in trunk lid, left

However, when you install F82 into F32 all fits as it should. Put F82 LCI tails in my F32 yrs ago. No trimming needed and no leaks

This is an old thread, but there is no way in hell that that little alignment dowel would cause a water leak. The lip on the edge and the plastic clamp should keep the light tight enough to the body to prevent water intrusion. The dowel does not press fit into the trunk lid, nor does it hold the lamp snug to the trunk lid.

Hello. I have F32, and I bought f82 lci tail lights. After installed the taillights and washed the car water comes into the trunk tail lights. So I need to cut off small plastic pin on taillight to solve the trouble?
