Alternative to CCB; BMW won't honor warranty

HELP!!! I bought a 2018 M4 Competition with ~6000 miles on a year and a half ago from a dealer (been a dealer's car). It came with CCB, which the dealer said would be ideal for the track. I track the car every 3-6 weeks from Spring to Fall and only put about 5000 miles/yr on it. I bought an extended maintenance plan to cover the cost of pads and rotors since I noticed the pads were going quickly after a track day (on average 1-2 mm). The front pads were recently replaced, and before my last track day the rears. However, at the last track day (in the rain) I noticed substantial vibration in the car, and also when stopping hard on dry ground. The dealer said the front rotors were flaking and pitted. He sent photos to BMW National and they said that type of damage was due to the wheel being put on inappropriately and damaging the rotor SO THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT. Both rotors have the flaking so I presume they consider both rotors were damaged at the same time. The dealer took on and off the wheels to replace the pads, and I took them off and on once to put on my track wheels, which I have done many times (thank you quik jack). As you have probably heard, it is $11,000 to replace these front rotors, which is why I got the extended maintenance plan, which BMW will now not honor. Anyone have an opinion on this I can take to BMW National (I have pleaded my case and they are going to get back to me tomorrow)? I am not paying $11,000 for rotors that may go in another year. If they'll pay for half the rotor costs should I go with it? I've been recommended to go with Gyrodisks. Anyone familiar with them for track and street use? Can I put these on the fronts and keep the rears CCBs for now? THANKS!

Just get the M2 2NH rotors, they should be a direct replacement I think.

P/N below:

Brake Disc Front (400x36)

Left - 34 11 8 072 017
Right - 34 11 8 072 018

Brake Disc Rear (380x28)

If I recall, CCBs are excluded from the maintenance plan.

+1. They are. Also, why would you track the car with CCB's? There are countless amounts of threads saying stay away from CCB for track use and replace it with the M2 Comp rotors with track pads. Heat destroys CCB's. Your best option at this point would be to retrofit the OEM M2 Comp steel rotors or get a 2 piece rotor from Girodisc.

Are there any vehicles (any at all) whose CCB are actually usable for repeated track sessions out of the box?

Repeated track use, yes, as the OP managed, not unlimited
Heat cycles on the track wear them out.

They are meant for the super rich or those that do not track the car.

Although I feel the kind of person who would happily wear out CCBs on a track would not go for an M4 in the first place, but something more like a 911 GT3 or a Ferrari..

All the hardcore track guys with GT3/GT3 RS all replace their CCB in favor of something like the AP racing kit. Costs are more manageable and the steel set up lasts much longer. If you take a quick gander on the Porsche forums about CCB for track use, no one serious about tracking their car utilize the CCB. They also say to replace the CCB pads at 50% to preserve the life of the rotors.

Some folks have swapped to girodisk rotors, with the desired pads and keep the ccb caliper.

Thanks. I'm looking into these rotors now.

No, BMW replaced my pads, but they don't want to replace the rotors. They claim the type of damage they see is not wear and tear. I think they don't want to pay for more than the maintenance plan cost.

Is there an advantage to the Girodisks over the M2 competition rotors? It looks like I'll be going to one of these options.

I would imagine the Girodiscs weigh a little bit less, replacement rings with hardware cost ~ $450F and ~$400R per ring.

On the other hand:

FCP Euro has lifetime replacement on the OEM bmw ones and they only cost $420/$290 for the rotors. If you track a bunch, I'd go this route.

Thanks. I'm checking now if I replace the CCBs with a rotor by BMW (such as the M2's) my extended warranty will cover them. It won't cover non-BMW parts.

Read the fine print. IIRC there is verbiage that says the maintenance plan excludes track use.
