leaves behind grill

Leaves seem to get caught behind the grill during certain seasons. I tried to blow them out with a leaf blower … but it didn’t seem to get them all out. Anyone else have a trick?

Yeah, take off the front bumper so you can have access to the radiator. Also, take off the oil cooler guard to get the leaves in there - you won’t get them all without disconnecting the oil cooler. I saw a bunch of stuff on the side of the oil cooler closer to engine when I replaced mine

Grabber with a light, if you cannot grab the leaves, they will break apart and be easy to vacuum up.

i now use an ego blower with an apex aire stubby nozzle, the size/diameter/circumference of the nozzle almost matches identically with the size of the lower grille

allows me to fully channel the air in there and blow out all the debris much quicker , every once in a while i’ll need to use the turbo setting on the ego but still easier than trying to suck it out with a shopvac

I bought this kit with the grabber tool. Got a bunch of leaves out..

The magnet tools are very handy but don’t work on non-magnetic leaves.

You can also go a step further and take off your belly pan extensions and skid plate to access the oil cooler bolts. There are 3 of them, I forget the size, but get glasses and a face mask because a tons of small rocks, leaves and dirt will fall out.

This.

Remove the oil cooler skid plate and drop the oil cooler. It is 9 hex screws to remove the skid plate and 3 hex bolts to drop the cooler. From there you can clean everything.
