Chassis Function Restricted

Hey all, I had this come up yesterday, I switched the car off and on, all ok and carried on driving.

I started it up in the morning and the warning came back on again and won't go away. I even tried disconnecting the battery to reset. The M buttons don't work and it flashes a couple of times if pressed. All the other buttons work, except the suspension setting, which doesn't change.

Any advice and info is much appreciated

It's usually a sensor that's failed.

Are you on standard springs? Watch out if they try and refuse based on after market ones.

I've got a bit of grumbling in car parks on full lock and I know they will try blame the spacers.

Good luck hopefully just a glitch.

It's is a sensor that is on the shock itself, seems pretty easy to replace. I will keep you posted

Hey all, so I bought the vertical acceleration sensor today and took the car to Technosport in London NW2, a reputable BMW Indy. All sorted, new sensor fitted and recalibrated, all good now

No, he's on metric system. That's "meters per gallon"

Hey that strut sensor has been a known problem for many an F8X. Had both mine replace along with struts under warranty. Still get the warning occasionally.

My average is 30mpg although to be fair we have larger gallons in the UK than the US.
