Putting Stock J-Pipe back

Hi all,

Since I have aftermarket J-pipe, I am now thinking about putting the OE stock one back later when I want to sell my car.

There is a strip of clamp ring that you will have to remove when you are taking OE J-pipe out to install aftermarket product. Now I am checking to see if anyone knows how to put NEW clamp ring when installing stock one back..

Has any one done this before?

Here is the clamp ring that I am referring to.

Still looking for your help
As far as I have figured out. You just slide in the new clamp ring on stock J-Pipe before putting them back on...

When you place the plastic J then you slide the white clippy thing back in the slot like it was before.

It's like when you placed the aftermarket J and had to slide the metal clip in that same groove (slot).

Did you slide the strip before install the j pipe? Or after?

Put the j pipe on the throttle body first. Then you can work the plastic spine back into it.

Like coxxoc said, and look for the little fingers on the strip to catch in the groove and hold right.

The correct way is to feed the white plastic strip into the slot while the J-pipe is still off the car. This way you can make sure it is properly seated in the slot. THEN you push the J-pipe onto the throttle body. The system is designed to allow the J-pipe to slide on and lock into place with the strip fully pre-inserted. The throttle body is tapered to allow this, but it does take a bit of force to fully lock it into place.
