RKP front lip

Finally installed my RKP front lip today.
I really like the look of this spoiler. Not too flamboyant and a damn good amount of clearance at stock height. Installation was not easy though. None of the bolt holes lined up at all. The weave of the carbon was flawless and the actual fit on the curvature of the bumper was dead on. Unfortunately, nothing lined up and new holes on the sides needed to be drilled as well as new holes in the middle carbon section to meet up with the mounting plate. No additional screws were needed at all. Two on each side, two in the center, and double sided tape.
I used lock tite on all hardware, lip has expel PPF, and I finished it off with sliplo skid plates on the bottom.

Looks good but I'm confused as to how the "center holes don't line up" as those are drilled during the installation process? The center support plate will determine that alignment.

The predrilled holes on the center of the lip did not line up with the plate. For example, once you mount the plate behind the lower bumper, the threaded inserts did not line up. Also, all four side holes were too short to match the original holes in the bumper. This was with the lip pushed back completely flush. So I had to drill new holes on the under sides of the bumper slightly forward and re-drill the splash guard so that they can all fasten. I must have mounted this thing about 5 times before pulling the tape adhesive and finishing. That’s how off the holes were.

Looks good though I also had to drill new holes for the sides. You wouldn't know by looking but it took a ton of work to fit and stay put correctly.

Still worth it IMO for the look!

Yeah, same here. I didn't need any other fasteners though. Just washers for the center section. Still my favorite lip. I went back and forth on this one and the oem CS lip. For 1000 bucks you shouldn't need to do as much drilling though. That's a major flaw.

Bumping this to see if anyone can share more recent experiences with this CF lip? I’m leaning towards this over OEM but I don’t want the hassle of any fitment issues. If these issues have persisted since the OP I’ll just go with oem and get the splitters. Any recent feedback appreciate and thank you

I see that I’ve already commented but I liked it enough to buy it again for my new F80. Out of every pre-drilled hole on the new CF piece only one didn’t have to be moved. Even the supporting bracket holes on the lip didn’t line up with the bracket itself which is stupid but IND did provide me with some consideration for the issues.

So, two installs, both difficult, but final result is awesome. It’s really the only one that gives the OEM look without the CF splitters which I don’t love.

There are two reasons why I say to just go oem.

1) The mounting holes are WAY off for the price.
2) This lip completely peeled back and was ripped off of my bumper after going through a big puddle at low speed in a heavy rain storm.
The cost savings isn't much over OEM and for the fitment, it should be perfect. The weave is pretty damn good though.

This is why I went with a CS style high quality replica. Once it is mounted with the oem hardware, it aint going nowhere!
