No meter here. They are a lot noisier, to the point that my wife made a comment about it.

Not to Hijack your thread but want to give my input on these tires. I've just fitted my M3 with 255/35/19 front 275/35/19 rear and have this really strong vibration at 85mph+. I have a radar detector mounted on my windshield and that thing bounces so much that I can barely read the LED notifications on them. It is about 20% louder on the highway (excluding smooth new pavement, which had more of a "buzzing" sound, it's very faint)

As far as handling, this thing grips very well. It performed much better in the rain than I expected. The car seems to "understeer" a bit more if I don't load the weight correctly into a turn. I think that's just due to better grip in the rear. The rears I replaced were the factory continental 5p and had about 1-2mm away from the wear bar, so it was always pretty squirmy.

I have about 300miles on them so far, with one HPDE event. I did spin out and go off the track for about 20ft on grass, I was wondering would that be enough to get a realignment? it was a very rainy day and the grass was extremely soft. I really wonder if the vibration is coming from that. So far it seems to steer perfectly straight, no other issues that I seem to notice.

Interesting you say that...

I have a slight vibration when the tires are cold too, but it seems to go away after they are warmed up.

They are definitely pretty loud, but I guess on par with any other extreme performance tire out there.

I'm replacing my rears soon, and when it's time to replace all 4, I'm going to try either the Cup2's or the Advan Neo AD08r's.

I really want to try the Cup2's, but the long wait to get them up to temp. and get maximum grip for street driving , has me hesitant.

I've been using the RE-71R on my F80 M3 for several thousand miles now and am ready to report my experience.

I'm on a set of fully forged Vorsteiner wheels, 265/35/19 front and 285/35/19 rears, no rubbing.

The car hooks in 2nd gear when the tyres are in optimal temperature with the mods I have. A stage 2 tune from bootmod3 and various bits means I'm putting down 500whp or so, which is awesome. I suspect this will not be the case in two weeks when I start running full E85, but we'll see. Grip overall is improved, and while I haven't tracked it, turn in feels more solid and provides more confidence. I'm also lowered on swift springs.

They're fine for wet roads too. I've had some scary moments but as long as you keep the speeds safe when it's really raining hard, you should be fine as long as you're alert.

Wear 'n tear - tyres look like they've got plenty of tread left. I've driven them for over 3k miles. No burnouts or LC, but I've done some seriously high speed highway runs.

NVH - no different from the MPSS honestly. Going from 20's to 19's improved the ride quality a bit, but not much. I am experiencing no excess noise or harshness from the tyres yet. I'm sure I'll begin experiencing some of that as the miles pour on.

Overall - very pleased. Will likely be going for 305 rears next since more power will require fatter tyres. I don't ever see myself downgrading to MPSS or any other tyre. Would've been perfect if these had more 20" options, but oh well.

RE71R: In the street, how long would you say it takes for the tires to heat to grip from the first cold start?

PSS grips, but it takes a hell of a long time to heat up to grip. I've already arrived at my destination before they do.

Depends on the ambient temperature.

Currently in this heat where it's 90° outside, I'd say about a few minutes

But at around 70ish, it shouldn't take anymore than 10-15 minutes of driving hard.

Did you previously run PSS as well and notice a big difference in time it heats up to grip?

I know everything is relative to location/temp/road condition/etc so I'm wondering if it's worth the difference.

yup. you will notice a diff, its quicker. I also up the size F 265/R 285. much better grip. just about to order a new set of rears. went from 100% to 40% in about 6k miles

Is anyone running the RE71Rs 295/30/20 on the rears for the 666m rim w/ 15mm spacers? I need more traction w/ a new tune and want to make sure there won't be any rubbing.

I think it's safe to say that I'm done with these tires. They are very very good performance wise; I'm just tired of the noise. The howl I got around 40-45 mph was driving me insane. I'll probably get a set for my autox/track wheels, but no more for my daily.

This is a very popular square fitment for the f8x. You should be fine with this setup on a stock car. If you are running a KW or Ohlins system, you might need a 5mm spacer up front to protect against rubbing on the suspension side. This can be eliminated with the 275/30-19 tire.

I have used the Cup2 on 1M and now the M4 CP for a total of four years and have no issues on the street. Below about 10 degrees they are a bit slippery but we only get that cold a handful of days a year in Melbourne.

I strongly recommend them.

I'm with you, these tires were loud and howled a lot especially over certain surfaces it would sound like tape being ripped off a table, but faster.

However, I loved the RE71R, aesthetically, performance wise, price point.

Cup 2 / RE71r are my favorite two "max performance tires".
