Earl - You are a tsunami of negativity on the new f80. You seem to be despairing of what it is on paper in terms of product and cost.
Also, the M3 has always been for the rich. The majority of people have mortgages for what these run as a monthly payment. |

Looks like the Ascari track. Obsessed with the sedan.

Since every BMW sport seat in the past 30 years has had an adjustable thigh bolster, my only guess is that these pics represent only one seat option - Maybe base, maybe a lightweight seat, IDK.
I'd be shocked to my toenails if they scrapped adjustable thigh support for weight savings. |

If full leather option is available and 6/7 speed manual is available, I get enough reasons to fill up my empty parking stalls. Oh, and it's going to be the M3 as I am still more if a sedan guy.

the s65 really shines over the s55 (conceptually, no one has driven it yet) in two categories. 1, it probably sounds better. 2, it is easy to drive at the track because of its linear throttle response while turbos CAN be tricky if not tuned well. the m3 is certainly the easier car to drive fast and smoothly on the track compared to the 1m for example (tracked both, and didn't say more fun, just said easier) so for a DD, the massive tq and broad powerband of the s55 is going to make for a much better DD. I base this from experience on owning a 1m which I wish I still had. My 1m actually sounded pretty damn good too with an aftermarket midpipe.

again, my point was that the s55 has superior DD qualities to that of the s65. outside of noise, the s55 makes way more power at all RPMs and will hopefully still pull well to redline.

i just looked up and found that in 2007, the E92 M3 was listed at 66k Euros in the german market.......so if this one starts at 72k euros then the price didn't go up too much considering a new model and 6 years have passed since that time.
what did the E9X M3 start at in the US market? $60k? so i'd guess $65-68k starting? |

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/19/ny...21-2.html?_r=0 21.2% of people living in NYC live BELOW poverty level. Median household income is $51k. I know all about high-income, high-tax rate areas and guess what - you need to have exceptionally large disposable income to be able to afford an M3. Or you still need to be well off (i.e. top 30%) but have terrible decision-making skills. And you are negative. You are blatantly and unabashedly negative. I've read you across many different threads here and you bemoan...literally it sounds like you are moaning the changes to the new m3/m4. I'm not judging you; most of the time you sound like a troll looking to get a rise out of people. But for the most part, you are nakedly negative about all changes...on PAPER....to this vehicle without ever having driven it. No offense meant man, just calling a spade a spade. |
