Apologies been super busy with family lately and wanted to give a short update. The car now has roughly 3000 miles and passed the dealer checkup after the new differential was put in from their STOP HOLD a few months back. The local BMW dealer has given the car a clean bill of health and car is now ready to go! Woohoo!

Wife and I are shopping for a new Audi so we brought this car over to the "enemy" and it was pretty well received. Audi has some really unique bright colors in their Exclusive program but none as bright as the Dakar from what I can see. They did have a really pretty baby blue (seen in backdrop, and also bright green on their E-tron similar to the Signal green from BMW). I loved their Quantum Grey R8 in the showroom btw....

We are now adding some more bits of CF aero to the car (didn't want to do it prior since these parts makes it harder for dealer to move the car around risk scratching it)

I chose this new CF front lip for it's clean simple lines and easy installation. Minimum holes needed to be drilled and make this easily replaceable if damaged. (gotta plan ahead). I didn't want to do the OEM side splitters everyone has so mixed and match some unique parts for this car.

The CF side aero pieces ties in nicely with the diffuser and front lip. It was pretty easy to install but one thing I noticed is even when I'm super careful I tend to kick these piece. Only time will tell how it holds up to kids and daily driving. The stick out quite a bit. All of these pieces keep the 2-tone color scheme with yellow and carbon as the primary colors.

At the same time, been working on my interior bits and pieces. I got my custom 6-speed manual shift knob finished and it's on the car, feels amazing and almost OEM at the same time. Quite a few people thought it was an M-perf part but it's NOT. This was custom made for me by request and is about 2mm thicker and heavier than stock. Still lights up like factory but has the CF/Black Alcantara finish which feels like butter

Next up is the stereo system and rear carbon headrest mounted LCD Screens for the kids. This is probably going to be one of the most tedious parts of the installation. Our plan is to build new rear seat backs in carbon with holes cut for a nice HDMI 8" LCD screen for each child. The screen will be mounted on a pivot so it can be tilted for the right angle. The headrest LCD's will support HDMI and smart phone mirroring via Bluetooth and Wifi. The idea is we can plug in a USB memory stick or just feed video from our smart phone directly to the LCD so we can control what they are watching. Each LCD will have it's own dedicated wireless headset or we also have a wired headphone jack too. The ultimate goal of this system is to allow mom/dad to talk or listen to our music while the kids watch their programs in back.

A subwoofer and upgraded speakers are in the works too. Planning to use Hert, Audison and JL Audio to upgrade the stereo system. Everything will be stealth, not highlighted for functionality and maximum trunk space!

Front lip getting prepped:

CF side diffusers are being test fitted:

Will have more photos shortly once everything is installed!

NEXT on the list:

Custom Verde Mantis Brembo Brakes and unique BBS wheels!!!!

hope you guys like the build thus far!

Any particular reason for not sticking with either OE or BMW Performance on the shift knob?

Absolutely beautiful! Dakar yellow feels at home on the F80.

Where did you purchase/custom make the 6MT shiftknob/boot?

Definitely needs a front splitter! That NSX is still drop dead gorgeous. Please never sell it.

thanks buddy ~ long time no see!

Yes the car is getting a new front lip and will have photos shortly. Normally the OEM wheels are the first thing to go but these Comp wheels are really growing on me. I can't get myself to replace them yet. I have been shopping a few options but thus far can't pull the trigger.

Will try to update this thread with some new photos once I get a chance, super busy these days and car modding is definitely not the top priority.

Car did hit 3500 miles+

After waiting since October, we finally received our new DMV plates too so the car is official now!

I really love this build! Great taste in cars as always. I think I have followed you around S2ki, NSXPrime (NSXpo at Road America this year!), m3forum, and ClubLexus. Back in an M car as of today as well.

Keep up the awesome work!!

Nice build. Which front lip splitter did you end up with? Is that Status Gruppe? So many similar looking parts, it's hard to keep them all straight.

Lip is made by Klass Carbon along with the rest of the CF aero kit!

here's a few more photos prior to getting the BBK and BBS wheels:

This picture either makes my car look huge or my son really tall!

Added some custom made CF Rock Guardz that helps to alleviate rocker panel damage from rock sprays. Each piece is made of carbon fiber with a rubberized spray on the rock wheel side to absorb impacts. It adds a nice flair for the front wheel wells and protects the paint and side skirts a bit. A nice added bonus is during rain it helps to keep the car a bit cleaner too!

I actually looked at M-perf parts but they do NOT make a shift knob like this with carbon / black Alcantara and it was not lit. So I had my shop custom make this for me, good to different. I'm sure you of all people know about standing out!

Happy Friday fellas!

Very happy with my interior mods - going to start on the custom stereo setup this weekend, planning to rebuild the A-pillars to use a 3-way speaker setup with active sound.

This is how it looks now:

A friend stopped by with a pretty rare Lexus color called Ultrasonic Blue so we snapped these pics, quite a stark contrast:

Cool - seems like a lot of M3/M4 owners in the area. We have at least 4-5 in my work parking lot alone!

I'm having a hard time deciding on the wheels, should I do BBS like what everyone else does or go with something different. Been looking at some Work wheels?

thanks again for checking out my pics!
