As of now our schedules have shifted a little bit depending on availability of driving instructors and tour organizer working with us. Spa may well be on Tue and all 20+ Cars will be there from 6pm to 8pm for private time and pictures. If you are willing to take the day off to come visit us I dont see why I cant get you on the driver pits with us. We pretty much have every interior/exterior color combinations even a AY/SO. It would be great to include some locals and visitors to this event somehow so please stay in touch as you see updates.

I for sure will watch this space closely ... It doesn't matter which day it will be, but if I can meet up with you guys, it would be a pleasure to meet some members and see, smell, touch and hear all these different variations of the new M...at this point in time, I will be even able to still change my order after seeing other colors ...

Congratulations to all those involved. Its not easy to plan and then execute any idea that incorporates people from all over the country on one schedule. Hope you guys have the time of your life. Take pictures and share some stories when you get back.

My one question is the BMW break-in period. They say keep it below 5000 RPM's for the first 1200 miles. How does this group plan on going through all the M training classes and drives while staying below this recommended allowance? Seeing how tightly the trip is planned, Im sure there is something I am missing. Couldn't be happier for this group.

Lots and lots of driving, 300-400 miles per day hopefully. Not a hard task with the European highways Even if we surpass the recommended mileage we still have to book a service so we can have the go ahead and push them harder. I don't think any of us is going to try and set new track records(speaking for the non race experience). Just lapping this tracks and getting to know our new toys should get the job done

Turbo'd S55 .

Joking aside, this will be an interesting point. On my current ED M3, I had 471 miles when I dropped it off at Frankfurt. They did the 1200 mile service at 474 miles when it came back stateside to the port and I drove the car according to the break-in schedule for the E92 when I was in Europe. I'm not gonna say who, but a non-service BMW employee told me I could've driven it a lot harder and been fine

Obviously the M cars are the only ones that BMW still even schedule a service that early (on their bill ). I'll be curious that since the S55 runs a more conservative oil and revs compared to the S65/S85 days, what BMW's take on it is.

So Yes all of you are correct! We will be doing a LOT of driving to pile on miles quickly. We will certainly be taking it easy on the track and its more for the experience. These are some of the worlds toughest tests of driving and will be treating very seriously with our limited experience. We will also have the chance to drive cars setup for track use that we can run harder after some instruction. In regards to break in period you are right Ramuman. The break in period is for US buyers only for some reason and I hear that German deliveries do not have this requirement. Surely we will take it easy for the first few hundred miles but its really not an issue with 300 miles in odometer to crank it up a little bit. Any M experienced pro will tell you the same thing. We should not be driving over 105 miles an hour anyway while learning the courses and taking it easy on turns. However some of our Pro Driver instructor will offer some hot laps in instructor cars and the Ring taxi to get a feel how its really done

Hi.

Impressive work....
Where are you guys going to stay in Spa? I have been there and it is only one place to stay. A nice small hotel, not fancy, not cheap, but a lot of charm! The chef help us fixing on of the cars we brought in the middle of the night. I think the had a star in the michelin guide a couple of years back. Red bulls f1 team stay there during spa gp. You have to stay there to understand. I can send you the info if you want.
If you have time and want to come to Norway let me know.

Ot: I am looking on an m4 with active protection. Anyone of you guys that have it in the cars you have ordered? How will it react whene tracked?

BIMMERPOST will provide extensive coverage of event and all activities during the week! EU Moderator Dackelone will be joining the group for a front row ride along and regular reports. Southlight will be joining us for the M Festival and 24 hours Nurburgring race weekend. In other words it's like you will be there with us! BMW is well aware of our group as well so will see what they may offer.

epic!!

I'm picking up my m3 on June 24! Wish I got in on the 23rd group. Would love to meet up with you some where. I'm planning 1,000 mile road trip through Alps then up North. Servicing car (not sure where yet) then hitting up Spa, the Ring and hopefully another track (not sure where yet).

This will be my 3rd ED. Last ED was for a 2011 e93 m3. Drove up to ring and spent a day at Spa. Best trip ever. Can't wait to do it all over again!
