This noise is driving me Crazy. Any ideas?
So I have what can best be described as a noise in my M3 CS that sounds like a quarter or a small bolt sliding back-and-forth in my driver side lower door cubby. When I brake I hear it and when I accelerate I hear it. Back-and-forth. Back and forth. It's driving me nuts.
I've checked every possible nook and cranny several times including under the driver seat and in the seat adjustment tracks with a flashlight for errant coins. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

My then young son dropped a 1/2” diameter ball bearing from a game into the flooring of our Volvo XC90, I know how frustrating that noise can be.

Had something similar a year ago. I used a telescopic rod with a magnet on the end (it's a torch at the other) and I ran it around the seat and up and down the rails... voila!
A small nut from something had got into the rails and was simply not visible. Not much use on anything non-magnetic.. But this worked for me. It's saved me a couple of more times too finding a dropped nut or washer... I'm UK, but you get the idea. Literally a couple of bucks for you guys... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amtech-S223...17947260&psc=1 |

Whenever I mention a rattle in one of my cars, the service manager reminds me of a knob on the center console. Turn it clockwise far enough and all the rattles go away. Seriously, though, is a great thread for the F80, though, not sure if this would cover your issue, but worth a glance: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1031768

^ I was going to suggest checking the vents under the seat. With the resonance, it may sound like it’s coming from the door.
Worse case, you might also need to pull your door panel and check behind in the door. |

I pulled a piece of sound deadening sheet from my head liner. It fell down and was sliding around, clunking as it hit each side. Took us a while to chase it down but we finally got it out.
