Car Seems to pull harder on certain terrains

So traction control completely off, everything equal.

My car seems to pull a lot harder on certain types of pavement, while others it seems to be less rev happy and pulls not as fast/feels like it struggles.

Tell me it's all in my head or my car is fucked, either or

Your car is cursed bruh each week different issue

1. Are you sure you just didn't have traction issues on slippery surface

Not in your head. Road quality definitely makes a difference.

Also tyre temps and outside temps. Car is fine 😁

This car seems to only really perform in the summer. I live in Yorkshire i'm screwed most part of the year ! really need to buy a house with a garage so I can park her up and buy a daily for all year round.

Tell me about it, it's completely insane and it drives me nuts about this car. Ours cars are definitely fucked.

When it's sunny and 80 degrees outside, the car handles amazingly. Yet, if I take it out when it's cold and the roads are a bit wet that amazing traction is nowhere to be seen. It's mind bending, like where the hell does it go? Why does my DSC light insist on coming on in such conditions? Obviously some sort of defect with the car, I should have purchased a car with a narrower wheel base and a higher certain of gravity.

As well, when I'm on a standard clear road I find the car somehow handles a lot better than if I were on a dirt road or a road that might have loose gravel or falling leaves on it. It's completely unfathomable why this is happening. BMW refuses to do a damned thing about it, I'm tired of writing letters and leaving messages and I never get a response.

I heard they solved it with the g8x. You’ll suddenly realize performance is second fiddle to having a machine to churn likes and followers. You must trade it in, it’s the only way.

I guess it's all part of the F8X experience.

I love it, every day theres something new to learn but yes winter here in canada, the car turns into a 340i.

These cars hate winter and they are very sensitive to types of surfaces, lots of character from these cars.

isn't that just called traction? which this car seriously lacks. I can be driving at 70km/h and punch it and even in our crap mdm mode it will still cut power and light up the dash. Maybe once my super sports are done the ps4s will help a bit. my uneven rougher roads also don't help im sure...

Nope,

I have TC off in all modes, it literally is a weird phenomenon.

Am i spinning my wheels and just not gripping but somehow keeping the car straight and accelerating? Just pulling less?

It honestly seems on less smooth surfaces i can pull significantly harder.

I did increase my tyre pressures recently though to about 37 PSI in winter here

I went to the palm reader. Turns out my car despises winter.

Took the car out for a spin today at 8 degrees celcius here in toronto.

0 issues, no vibrations, no struggling in different terrains.

Turns out alpina pa4 tires probably aren't great winter tires as the rubber becomes so stiff and so does the rest of the car that it makes the car super annoying to drive in the winter and lacks grip.

The catless exhaust resonance doesn't help.

I will buy a better next year for winter, the car clearly doesn't like cold temps

If you need winters you should look into Nokian Hakkapelitta without studs unless you need studs.
They work great with the F8x

Have you driven them on regular roads?

What are they like in the -10 and below range.

The Alpine PA4's tbh seem to be all seasons rather than winters even though they are classified as winter tires.

The rubber on them hardens so much and transmits insane amounts of NVH into the cabin and lacks for grip.

Would not recommend them at all

For snow and ice it's hard to beat the R3 or whatever they're called. When I asked my dealership for winters this is what BMW delivered me on 513M's. Barely used them but the few times I did I've not had any issues and its been cold (-15c) but mostly clear roads as I want to avoid the salt as much as possible which is why it's been parked for months since it started to get cold.

Only had it out a handful times last 6 months when it's been warm since I'm still on my old summer PSS that I'm going to swap out for PS4s.
Thanks to corona I've not had a reason to drive outside work which is what the company car is for.

Completely normal.

Your grip is going to depend on ambient temp, tire temp, surface temp, friction coefficient (roads do not have a constant friction coefficient), levelness of surface, debris/particles/fluid on the road, etc etc etc.
