Underwhelming may have been the wrong word to use - it was just a different experience driving a twin turbo v-6 compared to a supercharged V-8 with 650 ft lbs of torque haha. The other concern of mine is that my next car will not only be my daily, but it will also see a 4.5 hour (one way) trip once per month, half of which the roads sucks. I've read some reviews online discussing long term test in the F80 and it seemed like the majority of people thought it was too stiff. Thoughts? |

Have you ever considered a Tesla Model 3 Performance? Amazing as a DD with very comfortable seats and a great audio/infotainment system, and the instant torque means that few cars are quicker in the cut-and-thrust of traffic. Also surprisingly capable on back roads... |

I have no idea if either of those above statements are true though haha. Do Tesla owners buy their own parts and fix their own cars? |

Was riding shotgun in my buddies Hellcat today and I have to say that car is fking awesome. Would I trade m F80 for it? Uh no, but would I get one? I am seriously considering it. That car was absolutely bonkers.

With so many hellcats, mustangs and camaro's for sale these days make me wonder and say the original purchase was not a good one and they decided to upgrade it an M car.

People who would make the trade are the ones cutting out mufflers in M cars to make them rattle so you can hear them a mile away.
A heavy pig with shit interior and absolutely no real handling vs a precision and fun machine Yes hellcat is faster in straight line, how many times would you see the difference? Once or twice? All the other times when you are not flooring the car it's you are driving a 25k charger with a loud exhaust

Wow didn’t expect this much hate on here for hellcats lol
Probably wouldn’t trade my M4 in but I am planning on buying one soon and keeping my M as a daily. The widebodys just look so badass and that motor is crazy. Chrysler’s interior quality is actually really nice on their more expensive cars and suvs Plus I just love how FCA keeps pumping out these 700hp cars and trucks while everything else is becoming sissified and electric |

I'd argue it's tough to have a remotely valid opinion unless you've lived with both. I traded my 2018 Charger Hellcat in for my (manual) F80 after having the Hellcat for 3 years. Getting a ride in a Hellcat, or going for a test drive, doesn't really qualify one's opinion (in my opinion ). It took awhile to be able to learn how to drive that car fast (properly), not just doing burnouts and highway pulls. But it was extremely rewarding once I did learn. Maybe some people cross shop these two, but I can't imagine why. When you've lived with both, you understand how different they are. Then why did I trade in my Hellcat? I wanted a sports car to enjoy in my more rural/backroads area. I wanted something with more luxury/tech. Each car has so much character that I consider myself privileged to have owned both. When people ask me about the cars I tell them that the Hellcat is a sledgehammer and the M3 is a scalpel.
And the obligatory Hellcat pic: |

Not exactly a hellcat but I just picked up a fully loaded 17 Jeep GC SRT. Needed a SUV to tow and for winter. Keeping my M4
The interior is every bit as nice as a loaded RRS or X5M. Suede headliner, Harmon kardon sound system, Nappa Leather wrapped dash, dash trim, leather wrapped door panels, cooled seats, launch control, pretty much everything. The only think I like better the bmw is the ergonomics of the infotainment system. Chrysler has come a very long way with their top of the line interiors, definitely better than anything Ford or Chevy have to offer. Plus when they break and are out of warranty the Dodge or Jeep will cost a couple hundred bucks to fix instead of a couple thousand with a M car |
