MST intake

I am thinking of getting an MST intake of has anyone got one or had one ? Looking for feedback on how it sounds , are there any cold start idle issues or fitment problems etc

I am doing it for sound not performance

Any reviews / feedback appreciated

I have one, I really didn't run into any fitment issues, and it sounds great!

Cold starts have been fine too.

Zero issues since day one, been on the car for 14 months. Sound is great, good spool sound and makes a decent blow off sound when you wind it up.

Edit-just flashed in bm3 stg1 and these sound amazing. They sounded good before but now 😊

+1 for MST.

The only problem I could mention is on my extra hot Paul E85 tune I can get MAF errors since it pulls so much air. Paul said it's normal for extra hot tunes with some open intakes. Running all other OTS and normal Custom E85 was no problemo.

If you run silicone CPs make sure that the box-top screws don't dig into your tubes. Just loosen the CP and twist so it pulls clear, then retighten.

Sound is great.

Got a Turner OCC which fits well. No interference with the MST box.

I know this is a tough question to answer since it's so subjective, but wondering if folks feel like the MST intake is a BIT louder than completely stock (w/ charcoal filters) or a LOT louder? I think it's what I'm looking for in terms of extra noise, but it's so hard to tell in the various youtube videos. Worried it might be a bit too much.

MST adds a moderate amount of sound, not obtrusive. A front mounted (in the grill) set adds a LOT of sound.

I like my MST, and Mike@X-PH has great prices on them.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Great to hear that it's not obtrusive or "over the top". I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm considering it mostly from an engine bay bling perspective. Plus thought it would be a fun DIY project--looked pretty easy in the vids.

Makes efficient mode with valves closed sound much more interesting, like a BOV whenever you gas and let off. Totally worth the money. No issues with the install, fitment, or idle.

Fitted mine today and sound is great it does catch on the strut bar though which is annoying !

I might have a play and see if I can adjust it but doesn't look like there's much adjustment tbh

Did you get the metal box tops all the way down in the grooves in the plastic box bottoms? I had one box top a little crooked until I lined up the grooves real good and pushed an edge in better.

Also, on the passenger side you can get extra clearance from the underside of the CF brace by seating the MST metal 90 a little deeper into the silicone coupler. This lowers the angle of the tube running up to the filter. For first fitment I did the lower coupler clamp tight, then got the tube fitment nice, and crammed my hand up with a tiny ratchet for the top clamp. Then the passenger side was all set. When I remove that side I only undo the bottom clamp, since the top clamp holds the alignment.

I manage to sort to this fairly easy loosened the clamp and pushed it down it now clears the strut bar !

I have put some foam on the strut bar just in case it rides up a little with use but o will check it periodically.

Thanks for your help
