Noticed that this thread has a little bit of PCAR talk in it as well...

So I jumped the gun and actually got myself a 992 C2S in Jet Black with Leather Interior along with some Lizard Green Accents/Deviated stitching. Manual transmission of course.

Will take proper pics after full PPF and ceramic coating but here are some for now:

Well I’ll be. Yet another convert. Waiting for the magic number when those born with all seeing eyes bestow upon us the magic that is the g8x and how it’s a wild success. Or, we can all come back from pumpkin carriages and glass slipper land and realize…. The great move away has begun.

Yeah… just don't like where BMW is headed…

I'd gladly keep my F80 but just doesn't make sense financially to keep the F80 and sit in the garage — AND literally not be driven at all.
I barely put miles on it as it is.

Just decided to go in a different direction like some of people on this thread.

Anyone interested in that Biermann interview, will also like this Peter Schreyer interview ... the REALLY interesting thing is, one might wonder if BMW (specifically Krüger?) is trying to copy Peter's move, except with c-team players:
How do you take a car company no one had ever heard of – from a place no one took seriously at the time – and make it respected worldwide brand? Design. More specifically, a calculated risk on design. That’s the amazing turnaround Peter Schreyer accomplished when he took over Kia - and later Hyundai - after redefining Audi and Volkswagen design with such hits as the new Beetle, Audi TT, R8, S5 and more.

So WTF calculations was BMW using for G8x? geezus.

Deposit down on a 992 GTS.

But given NorCal, I can't imagine I will have an allocation before Q2 2022 :-(

That's pretty much it. It just looks cool. I don't like it personally because they still have shitty offsets and you can't add spacers so you have to go full aftermarket rims if you want a more flush stance on a car w/ centerlock wheels.

Oh shoot I was referring to timeless, not myself. Convid claimed 50k/ year from my income, don't think it's the appropriate timing for me. I'll stick with my lowly f82 for now. I don't do well selling vehicles, only adding to.

I probably have 9 months to piss about with changing the configuration ... but here's my initial stab http://www.porsche-code.com/PNUM6QA6

After having silverstone leather on my F82 I really like light interiors and full leather dashboards. The aventurine exterior is maybe not the 'sportiest' option for a GTS, and I may decide to go for something a bit flashier. (Blame CHP for the conservative choice! ;-)

Still dithering on PDCC and RAS.

The 'remote parking' options are mainly to increase the 'wife acceptability score'. See
for details ... it apparently has a 'prevent you curbing the wheels' feature!

It looks good. I feel the same way about leather after so many years in BMW's, and that was cemented after sitting in a car with the base interior. No thanks! I full leathered my C2S!!!

I like Aventurine a lot, would probably be my choice if I were to build one right now. Also completely agree on a lighter color interior with full leather. I have the full chalk/black interior on my 718 and I love it. Black leather is always safe but just doesnt look special.

Gorgeous! Love the Lizzard Green Accents about the cabin. Enjoy it

Congrats! Love this color combo. Aventurine is great looking in person, very much a classy and understated shade of green but works well with the 911 shape. Iceland Green Leather is also beautiful, although I never understood why they refer to it as green since its really just a lighter shade of beige.

Nice looking car bro. How do you feel about your Lizard Green tachometer now that you've lived with it a few days? I considered a white tachometer, but I'm still on the fence.

Thanks!

One thing I've realized about "green" is that people see it very differently. For example, there were a non-trivial number of people who always described my first Austin Yellow F82 as 'green'. Partly it was due to the paint picking up different colors in different light... but I don't think that fully explains it.

Aventurine also appears to be one of those colors that can look very different in different weather conditions... here's a nice video

The iceland green leather, to me, definitely looks like a pale green... and slightly more 'saturated' than the silverstone leather on my current F82. This is the closest I I've managed to get to one in the flesh (this was at a local Porsche dealership that was so full of $#%#@ that they wouldn't even unlock the car for me to look inside!)

Congrats! Waiting for you to get rims and share your knowledge. Rennlist members are much less knowledgeable about modifying cars and nobody knows much about the right offsets, stance, etc.
