A quick update ... 1200 miles now and all ok.

BMW have sorted the alloy wheel. The dealership have today supplied and fitted the BMW Advanced Car Eye as a good will gesture. I also got some compensation from BMW UK.

I had this on a SUPER COLD ASS morning/day. and it when away ( confirmed with Dealer) let it warm up drive slowly. then turn it off completely, lock the door. open and turn it on and it was gone... This advised came from a professional senior Tech at BMW.

From what I have read and heard, this is not uncommon. Many owners are having issues with their transmission. Mine sometimes won't engage reverse and it was verified at the dealer and on the repair order and they couldn't do anything because there were no fault codes present. The dealer was astonished. This is why BMW is no longer using DCT after this model run.

I had my DCT kind of engage slowly once when requesting R from a quick Stop ... used to drive manual and much quicker shifts manually from fwd gear into reverse.
