Is a full leather interior quieter than an extended leather interior?
Wondering if full leather especially the dash part makes the interior much more quiet and rattle free... had an M4 and it was rattlefest specially the dash are but did not have full leather....

I haven't had an issue with rattles in my car but can't say it is due to full leather.

I had some rattle in the door, dealer fixed it for $180. (only first year is covered, fking bs)
I had some rattle in the rear view mirror, I fixed it by wiggle it a little. Now it's rattle free, just like any other German cars I've had Full leather btw

The leather dash in my 2018 M4 makes WAY more noise than my plastic dash in my 2014 435i.

I wonder how much people's cars vary in terms of rattles vs how much people notice the rattles. My girlfriend car rattles and creaks like crazy and she doesn't notice it at all. The other component that plays a role in rattles and creaks it temperature since the heating and cooling of the plastics and leather causes it to expand and shrink so depending on where you live / time of year you may notice more or less rattles.

Full Leather F80 LCI
Having the full leather has no impact on a quieter cabin IMHO, and if it does, it is a negligible db reading. The surface is pretty smooth and the leather, while softer than the plastic, its pretty solid and still going to reflect sound waves. Think of a leather drum head. I happen to have a sound meter, I think I will experiment.
It does look much better than the non-full leather. I have never had a rattle in my F80, ....well except that one time I had a rattle, but discovered it was just my visor that was not fully clipped into place. I kid you not, the sound projected as though it was coming from the center of the dash. It was a bit maddening to locate the cause, as it was intermittent.

2017 here, full leather, no rattles.
I don't know if the full leather helps with rattles but the car certainly smells way better. |

No rattles here and no full leather either. However, I really regret not getting full leather. I don't really notice any unwanted noise.
