Since BMW are providing product placement then there are certain concessions such as marketing etc that justifies the cost of the cars handed over to the production.
BMW will be allowed to use the film and scenes from the film in a global marketing campaign that will coincide with the release of the film. And given the franchise already has a built-in audience that more or less guarantees that the film will recuperate its budget and marketing costs. So providing those M3s and 3er stunt cars when you consider the return for BMW in promotional material to advertise their product placement the actual cost for providing the cars is justified. Not only will the M3 be seen but other BMW models will appear such as the new BMW X6 and the i8 plus a new model that will be launched in 2015 which will feature side by side promotion of Mission Impossible 5 at its World Premiere at the IAA , Frankfurt September 2015. FYI those M3s will be destroyed bar the main screen models that will go on display to promote the film.

It doesn't bother the people that own an F8X, so why does it bother the people that don't.

I'll attempt an explanation. While engaged in face-to-face communication, humans communicate non-verbally. Things like tone and body language contribute significant amounts of "information" to what we're actually communicating. Some behaviorists suggest that non-verbal communication communicates over 90% of what we are trying to convey.
When communicating through writing, we lose most of this ability. Communicating tone using words takes extra work. You have to reflect carefully on what you've written in order to ensure that your tone is accurately conveyed. For example, I have a bad tendency to come across as cold when writing. My style is plain and straightforward, like a stereo manual. Thus gave rise to the emoticon. Emoticons are non-verbal clues as to the author's tone. A sarcastic joke delivered in person is much easier to identify than when written and posted to a forum. Adding an emoticon is a non-verbal clue that the author is only joking around. It doesn't necessarily mean that the author is literally laughing at their own joke. It's more of a suggestion: hey, you should have a laugh at this, rather than get upset.

We're not talking about exotic or limited production cars here guys, these are regular production cars, no biggie.

It's their loss then, because this is a fantastic automobile.

There's a thread here somewhere that had stills from when they were filming. It was around the time of the first CFRP roof shortage and the cars that they destroyed all have both CCBs and CFRP roofs.
