BMW already has laser headlights with the i8 so it's only a matter of time before laser technology trickles down to the rest of the models.

do you really think bmw is going to offer this standard.. halogen will always be standard on bmws and 900 for xenon and 1900 for led and probably 5000 for Laser

Badass. LCI as an option for the win.

I bet these will be available upon the launch of the M2, with LEDs being standard, and these being an option.

This is great for everyone. I bet LEDs are standard, at least for M models after this.

Looks like option for 7 series and next gen 5/6 series. 3/4 series probably won't see this until the LCI of the next gen platform. So probably 2 leases away for me.

Agree they will just start to make LED standard and charge for the laser package.

DOT is our biggest obstacle to some of the coolest features.

Reading about the various functions of these lights is fascinating! Finally lights worth paying for.

And cool white metallic looks awesome..

In all my wisdom I agree. I could see Xenons becoming standard on some models but no way in hell is BMW going to offer LED as standard, especially since people are paying $1,900 for it as an option right now.

Like these a lot and they're a huge step up functionally. I would think with the DOT approval that must exist for the i8 now, that wouldn't be a large obstacle in bringing these to market in other platforms, no?

Maybe MY '17? Seems to close to the '16 production date to receive DOT approvals.

I'm guessing these are gonna be available for the LCi in a couple years. But as a $5k+option.
