Keeping it under 5500 RPM has been tough for me...

actually, keeping a low profile has been hard since I like to drive in Sport and Sport Plus mode.

Get weird stares from neighbors when I pull out of the complex

Good thing I don't DD my car

Our lot is somewhat far away from the living corridors so it's OK.

Not sure sport plus matters on cold start. But if it does why not just wait 30s to engage and not piss off your neighbors?

JB4 is a possibility, but not ethanol.

Will the car cold start with valves closed in efficient?

Also, say you drive the car hard in the first 1200 miles. Will it have any affect on your warranty or maintenance plan?

Modern day engines are broken in immediately on startup, so that is not a concern.

If you have a DCT I would recommend going easy for a few hundred miles with alot of city driving shifts to seat the clutches. After that its game on.

I would not pull out of the dealership with 1 mile on the car and do a smokey burnout shifting @ 7500 RPMS. But you can do some spirited driving very soon after.

The breakin procedure is super conservative as far as mileage goes.
Ok, good to know about the DCT. I was just wondering since so many people seem to be very concerned about the first 1200 miles. I'm planning on driving it pretty hard from day 1.

I did 675 somewhat easy miles in Europe with only a handful of over 5.5k pulls and a few over 110s. Once I picked the car up in NC at the Performance Center last Friday after the driving experience, it was game on. I just had my 1200 done today. Can't wait to drive tomorrow!

It's more about the diff and tranny than the motor.

You can go to nearly 100mph / 5500 rpm in the first 1200. That is actually very entertaining! You can put your foot down and really fly. All they really ask is not to red line or kick down / stamp down on the throttle. Just get driving boys.....

Am I MISSING SOMETHING? PEOPLE WHO CAN'T AFFORD THEIR OWN LAND AND HOME GET A CAR LIKE THIS BEFORE BEING ABLE TO MIOVE OUT OF A COMPLEX WITH A DISTANT LOT? I guess we make choices bit Civic and save makes more sense to me. But then I got my m3 at 53.

+1...although the day I picked up my Cobra in 2004 with under 10 miles on it, I raced an SS Camaro all the way home. Cobra ran stout for the next 10+ years
