They are recommending you don't go above 5500 rpms due to the hard shifting/launching and work of the engine as you have break-in fluids in your diff and engine.

They flush these out at break in, to a higher heat and more durable fluid for the harder driving after break in.

Do we know this for sure? I seriously doubt they put anything different in there, than what it came with.

Some people prefer to live in condos. I think the most expensive home in the U.S. is a condo in Manhattan so wealth does not equal SFR.

I would love to buy land in the bay area, but not possible.

This is what I was told. The fluid in there is a bit different aimed to catch contamination and anything from manufacturing. They then drain at 1200mi, and replace with fresh gear oil capable of handing harder driving, (hence why they also unlock the Launch Control feature at this time).

1,200 done. I knew she wanted to fly but I took it easy why not. I have a lot of miles to cover and a lot of years to let her fly, so 1,200 was tough but the first trip to 120MPH was OMG what a rush. Headed to the MT' Friday lets hope the radar detector and my eyes helps keep me ticket less!

Did any of y'all install jb4 and DPs prior to the 1200 mile break in? Was hoping to get some feedback before I do anything too stupid

LOL Same here, I have seen many 7000 RPM pulls already and I am only at 700miles.
You are actually ensuring a long engine life with low oil consumption. I think BMW knows this, but they err for safety in rare case of catastrophic engine failure.

LOL. I leave around 6am every morning too and I actually have to start my car with the garage door closed, as it opens up to the front of my neighbor's house where their master bedroom is. Performance exhaust on the Vette is wide open on cold start and it is loud as shit

During break in... The car would PULL at like 3/4k RPM. I thought it would just be more of the same after break in. Nope... the power and torque just keep pulling all the way up. First 2nd gear pull on an open straight road and I was actually giggling...

Not sure sport plus matters on cold start. But if it does why not just wait 30s to engage and not piss off your neighbors?
Why not just not go to the gym, what's that anyway?

Like I said, I wouldn't rip out of the dealer @ 7k+ RPMs and the very first shift that clutch sees is 7k+ LOL. Same goes for a 6MT. I wouldn't go powershifting/speed shifting the thing or dumping the clutch off the bat.

I would do some city driving with alot of up and down shifts, engine braking etc for the first few hundred miles. The main thing is seating the clutches. Its basically like bedding the brakes..... After that there is no harm in doing some aggressive driving.

The 1200 mile fluid services is just dumping the oil out of the engine and diff to dump whatever assembly lube and fine metal that may be left over from assembly out. The trans fluid does not get touched.

Babying the car and driving like a grandpa until 1,200 miles is just silly. Have fun with the car just do not be stupid ya know? If BMW REALLY wanted you to baby the car they would have restricted RPMs or power in the software until you did your service..... I am sure no engineer can ever say that on the record so you will never see that in writing on a forum etc...
It's just the mystic of the M series have fun with it regarding the break-in time, kinda like when your mom told you to wait a half hour before getting back into pool after eating, thanks mom but that was useless too!
