I like this thread. I would like to know all the small technical differences between the two cars.

According to the USA press release, the M3CS will come with PSS and not PSC2 tires.
Might be worth mentioning that the M4 comes with a “downgraded” HiFi sound system (base M4 comes standard with the HK in many markets). The press release for the M4 CS specifically mentions that the EDC, ABS, DSC, EPS, DCT and eDiff modules have been re-calibrated for the M4 CS. There is no specific mention of this in the M3CS press release. From my readings in German publication, the recalibration on the M4CS were done to better take advantage of the grippy PSC2 tires. Might be worth mentioning the Alcantara trim with CS engraving on the dash for both cars. Standard Full leather dash on both cars Specially tune Sport exhaust with single wall welded on stainless steel tips for both cars. The M4 CS door cards are not full alcantara, only the elbow rest is. Lightweight door cards with Alcantara elbow rests and pull straps but without storage bins for the M4 CS ///M stripes on the headrest for both cars Staggered 19”-20” Lightweight 763M wheels in orbit grey for both

M4CS is 3.9 seconds 0-100km/h, not to 60mph M4 CS was advertised as 460hpDIN/454hpSAE and 442lb-ft. Those figure were quoted as “preliminary” in the press release. I assume the final number is now at 453hpSAE. I can only assume the power and torque ratings will be identical for both cars. EDIT: The international press release states the M3CS at 338kw/460hpDIN 600N-m/442lb-ft, same as the M4CS. I guess the discrepancy resides in the unit conversions and round-up. 338kW=453.3hpSAE -> 338kW=459.5hpDIN -> 460hpDIN=453.7hpSAE -> 600N-m=442.5lb-ft Good catch with the Mg oil sump. Interesting about the difference in ground clearance and oil capacity. The later does not really make sense sinse they share the same engine. Regarding air resistance, something is off too as the technical specs show the same frontal area for both cars, and the M3 has a larger frontal area than the M4.

Thanks Parabolica and CanAutM3.
I am wondering about the diffuser - is it an already available M Performance part? Or is it a new part created for the CS models? Edit: That oil capacity thing has got to be an error, no? |

I agree, I can only assume the oil capacity is an error.

mkoesel, I am not sure if you're done putting the table together, but it's still missing the 763M 19"-20" wheels in Orbit Grey for both cars and the re-calibration of the EDC, EPS, DSC, ABS, DCT and eDiff modules is also missing for the M4CS (a "?" could be put on the M3CS side).
Could also be worthwhile specifying that the hood is CFRP Also note that the alcantara steering wheel is not a standard item on the M3CS and M4CS. Don't forget to add Alpine White and Black Sapphire in the colour offerings. From the M4CS press release (and not in the M3CS one):

I was just reading the international press release for the M3CS, and it seems that it will be offered standard with PSC2 in the rest of the world just like the M4CS.
So it seems PSS as standard is a USA only thing. Quite possibly, the M4CS will also come with PSS in the USA .

Not sure yet about Canada, but there is no mention of the PSC2 in the USA press release.

Not really. If you you keep on reading, you’ll find that the PSS is a US only thing and that the M3CS is shod with PSC2 standard in the rest of the world (or in Europe at least) .
And BTW, you should know that PSC2 are worth more that 3 seconds over a 7+ minute lap. Further, to be honest, I am skeptical that they actually clocked M3CS at 7:38. I think they just took the M4CS’ press release time and put it in the M3CS’ promotional video description.
