Side Skirt reinstall
Installed side skirts maybe 4 weeks ago. This morning I notice the bottom half of one was hanging on the ground before I left for work. I didn't have time to fix it back up so I had to remove the whole side skirt. It was held up by the included adhesive as well as 15 rivets...maybe I didn't drill deep enough...I encountered some strong resistance after I drilled the rear side of the car so I didn't drill any deeper.
Anyways I plan to purchase some 3M double-sided tape and additional rivets and attempt a reinstall when I get home. I wasn't planning on re-drilling through the existing holes. What do ya'll think? |

Did you also wipe the rocker panels clean and try 3m promoter (I think it's just rubbing alcohol)? That's one thing I'm worried about putting on side skirts for my vehicles, seems so easy to rip off.

in my opinion the plastic oem rivets are not good. I've always used self taping screws with good luck

I ended up using screws as well. If you feel a strong resistance while drilling, stop. That is the body of the car you've hit. You need to bring the hole out closer towards the edge so that you only drill into the rocker panel.

RKP skirts go on with 10 self tapping screws per side and 3M tape and are very solidly attached tho OP likely has another brand having mentioned rivets. Can always use this method if rivets aren't holding |
