My M2 is stock at the moment.

My 328d Wagon is running Fat Cat Motorsports stage 3 dampers in a B14 strut body with F83 KW V3 front springs (marking 2025) at 265lbs/in (linear). In the rear I have FCM stage 3 converted B6 dampers and 1000lbs/in Hyperco springs.

I was spring catalog shopping with KW and asked them what they offered for the front in order to get more stroke than typical 8-9" long 2.5" ID coilover springs provided. My target rate was 250-275lbs/in.

I have the B16's; the car handles like a dream, but i wish it was a bit less bumpy during daily driving, even in comfort mode. The streets in LA are not always the best.

Bumpy as in the ride is busy with movement up and down constantly or is it harsh when hitting medium/larger bumps in the road?

The GC camber plates are a bit louder than expected and I probably should have chosen the Milwood street plates instead. These may get replaced fairly soon.

All that being said the car is on rails. The grip is in the stupid category.
Are you sure it's not an insufficiently tightened top nut? When you have the thrust bearings installed, have them look at that.

Thank you, I'll have them look at it. The car is going in tomorrow so hopefully this fixes it.

Not sure why thrust bearings don't come standard on all kits as I have seen coil bind across multiple platforms and suspension brands.

The thrust bearings worked! All of the noises when turning the wheel are now gone. Thank you for the tip that really saved me a lot of trial and error as well as frustration.

I’m 20 years away from that Mark but I do have 2 little ones which is pretty much equivalent to it being soft. That’s what she said.

Did you install the 2.5inch version? Was it a perfect fit?

Yes, I used the 2.5 inch thrust bearings and they are a fit. The base of the Bilstein spring is 60mm and 2.5 bearing works out to 63.5mm.

One alternative is to use Bimmerwold Thrust Sheets. I just switched over to MCS 3-ways with 2.25-inch springs and the Thrust Sheets were supplied with the kit instead of thrust bearings.

Here they are on the coil overs. Not the best angle to see them but you get the idea.
