The best dash cam for F8X - Blackvue or something else?

HI,

I'm currently searching for a best dash cam for my F80 and from what I read the consensus is that BlackVue products are the best. I did some research and Blacvue has not introduced any new devices for 2022 and DR750X or DR900X are already old products from 2021.

I'm looking for 60fps and best possible resolution and GPS data (speed).
I see on lot of rankings that new king is Nextbase 622GW and there is no BlackVue compared anywhere this year.

I love the small factor of BlackVue and I don't care about the screen at all. However 60fps (good for high speeds) is available only in DR750X but its FullHD only. Nextbase seems to cover even 120fps but... I don't like the design and it seems to be quite big.

what do you recommend?

thanks

I have a Thinkware U1000 that has a clean front window mount and a rear cam as well. Based on your requirements it looks like it would meet your needs. I personally like the parking mode and you can set the voltage where it'll power itself down so it doesn't drain your battery. For where I live in more worried about parking at the store so it covers me for the time I'm in there

I've just seen review on YouTube. Seems pretty good however its on pricey side.
I added it into consideration with blackvue as top dogs in the run.

I have a blackvue 650 I believe. Front camera is 1080p and the rear camera is 720p. I've had other dashcams before and they were not reliable or the battery expanded and damaged the case. The blackvue is capacitor based instead of battery based. This is great for hot areas like California where I am from. So far I haven't had issues with my 650 and I've had it for....6 years?

Thinkware wasn't available at the time so I cannot speak for them. I also don't know many people with it either, most people I know own a blackvue.

I have BlackVue DR900X dashcams and Cellink external batteries in my Jeep and my wife's F80. I hardwired the dashcams myself and wanted it setup mainly for parking mode so I can have eyes when i'm not in or around the vehicles during the day & night. Definitely worth the money imo.

I have a Blackvue system and battery pack, they reached out to me a few years ago and sent me a kit. I haven't had any issues except the battery arrived DOA, but they were very helpful and quick to send me another one.

Quality is good, easy to use and luckily I haven't needed to use any footage. In my opinion, the battery is really only useful if you're leaving the car parked in place where it might be pretty exposed to accidents

If you decide to go the Blackvue route, you can use my Instagram handle in my signature for a 10% discount

ok so basic think wave f70 does not have GPS with speed which I like as one of top features I want. It also is 30fps instead of 60fps as blackvue DR750X plus.

I saw some footage from Blackvue and top thinkware U1000 and you can read license plates so I guess the YouTube-r did something wrong.

but... yes.. I also started of thinking about GoPro

I have no problems reading license plates with my DR650 in 1080p lol.

I have the Blackview DR950s 2 channel without battery on my F32. Love it! 4k front and 1080p rear. License plates are easy to read and it has selectable GPS and speed readout on the video. Recording to micro SD in 60sec intervals for both on HEVC codec. Wish the videos were a bit longer and the event markers less sensitive. The are adjustable but even at low settings marks hard launches and potholes. It was easy to install and about $500 purchased in 2020.
