$123K with the buyers premium

A one-owner 2019 with carbon buckets and CPO just sold at Porsche Rocklin (Sacramento) for $125,000. This one was a year older and five owners (including the original PCNA executive lease pre-title) but had a $20K higher MSRP (PCCBs and a ton of interior goodies)

Once it got above the asking price of every other T on the market, I had to tap out, even if it was the ideal Rennlist spec

Agree, Caymans are going electric. Can't go wrong with this as a long term hold.

1. Buy a low-spec Portimao Blue / Black M3 6MT on the lot now for $75,025 after rebates
2. Wait a month for my G80 M3 allocation and order an Individual San Marino Blue / Silverstone Buckets M3 6MT for $87,545 after rebates (not thrilled about having to swallow another base price increase effective 1/1/23)
3. Buy a high-spec Tanzanite Blue II / Tartufo Full Leather M3Cx on the lot now (see photos below) for $89,230 after rebates
4. Buy a driver's 991.2 T with about 37k miles (but very good condition - see photo) for $95K
5. Wait 3 months for my 992 T allocation and buy a new one for $135K with European delivery in summer 2023
6. Do nothing and wait

For this thread, this is the only acceptable answer. I really don't know why we're all not driving a GT4! hahaha

In his use case for a car (tracks a lot, but maybe it’s changed) I don’t know why he wouldn’t. Even with the 15k ADM I think people will come out just fine with a GT4 on resale etc.

Gonna go on what sounds like a bit of anti T rant again, but I’m really not anti T, just in favor of common sense and a lot of us are chuckling at a thread on RL right now. If a buyer truly cares about a lightweight pure drivers car and tracks them, there is probably no better car than the GT4 in Porsche’s line up right now. If you truly care about a lightweight pure drivers car and don’t track them, there is probably no better car in Porsche’s lineup than the CGTS 4.0. Too me (and a lot of others) a T with the base 992 engine (Turbos) and the same 7 speed transmission as the rest of the Carrera lineup, even in its lighter form (which hardly anyone will spec) is still at most 100-200 pounds lighter than most S builds and still not as light as most Caymans of any trim and don’t handle as good. It is fun but also truly mind boggling to watch them bend themselves into knots convincing themselves a T is a baby GT3 (it’s most definitely not) and how supposedly super duper special of a car it is. Why someone would spec a 992 T with no back seats and pay more for a slower car than CGTS 4.0 and same ballpark as a GT4 really baffles me. But hey, entertaining as hell to read and their money so have at it.

I suspect there will be some very very nice low mileage CPO Ts in the enthusiast spec next year to pick from. Sounds like a great idea at the time and then people live with them and miss the nice interior and creature comforts. When I was shopping for my first Porsche there was 991.2 T for around 102k (a steal now) that they were really pushing me to buy. I ended up going with a new Cayman GTS 4.0. Both were manuals and had LWBS. To me at least it made no sense to go with the T in that case. I suspect many buyers will think along the same lines. Porsche really changed the dynamics and hurt the T sales (especially the rear seat delete ones) when they shoved that 4.0 motor in the Cayman/Boxsters. That truly is a special engine/special car(s). The GT4 even with the obvious different mid engine vs rear engine GT3 is the true baby GT3 and the feel of the older school Porsche’s people are looking for.

End rant/not really a rant.

Edit: I do remember my CA saying a person bought the used T because they couldn’t a 4.0 or GT4 allocation. This was the beginning of the madness that continues to today. That I definitely do get, availability etc.

I was trying to help a friend out with their Yukon/Denali/Tahoe search and reached out to my contacts when I read your post about them being advertised for a discount on the lot. They said here the mid and top trims are still almost all spoken for while they have a few lower trims on the lot. They said MSRP is still dominant but there are some small discounts to be had on the lower trims to move them at the end of the moth.

Interesting how region specific certain cars/brands are and lends more scientific evidence that slowdown is on the lower end of the market. It’s gonna take time and who knows if it will reach all parts of the market.

#5 for me, purely for Euro Delivery. Sounds like 911 will always be your end game, better to not waste time trying to love an M3 when you know deep down you want the Porsche. Even during your GT350 purchase it seems like deep down you knew it was gonna transition you to the Porsche.

I intend to keep tracking a lot but I would like something that is a bit more comfortable than the GT350 for weekend cruises and occasional weekday rage commuting. I also like the interior of the 992 more than the 991 or 982/718.

That said, you all are right, and I should probably just suck up paying $5K more than I want for the 718 GT4 (which I can also receive via European delivery in April/May).

CA was able to get me these from the port. Lost the tire lottery, but I have replacements already. Can’t wait to see it post MPHAS drop. Fingers crossed for port-installed CF tips, but they said those aren’t likely.

Cool color, enjoy!

Still weird to see an xDrive badge on the back of an M3. I’m sure it’ll rip though!

Fugly M3 what was your thought process on getting the M3Cx instead of an M3 Manual?

As I’m sure you recall, my M2C was stick, and I’m definitely missing it. Just last week I got in the old beater family Jag and smacked my left foot at the floor! Anyway, with going back to the office looming and the desire to take it to my ski condo (conti DWS 6 going on immediately), I went for the AWD. Now, if there were 6MT and AWD, commute be damned I’d have the stick.

Also, I drove the xDrive at the ice driving in Sweden and it was just nuts!

So….

…with 992.1 GT3 allocations being just about done (…or already done), it looks like the chance(s) of me getting one built to spec went out the door. I think 2026 will be the next GT3, so yeah, the C2S is staying for the foreseeable future.

Really? I thought it would go until at least until 2023 model year is done.

Or you can ask what they are asking for on the cars

Fletcher Jones Porsche in Fremont said they are not receiving any additional allocations and Fletcher Jones Porsche in Long Beach (…formerly Circle Porsche) is pretty much done as well. It looks like my only option, should I choose to accept the terms, will be a used example that is 99% unlikely to be my ideal spec.

That is unfortunate...

I wonder why they pulled it so early. I guess me asking this upcoming weekend might be beneficial after all.
