I just received and installed mine yesterday. There were no instructions, so I went off of the AA single midpipe instructions as far as where to cut the stock (ZCP) exhaust: an inch from the weld. This provided a nice tight fit with the new midpipe pieces. Overall the parts looked great. Nice welds. The fitment was good too. I just left everything sorta loose then wedged a 1X3 piece of wood between the included extended brace and the pipe while I did the final torques. This ensured the thick main pipe wasn't contacting the body anywhere. I used brand new downpipe gaskets which I think contributed greatly to the success of the install. The system sounds great, cold start is loud and slightly more aggressive. It's pretty much what you'd expect from an AA or VRSF single mid pipe. So far, no rattles or leaks, just automotive enjoyment. I'd say this exhaust piece was a solid purchase. Thumbs up to MAD!

It's my pleasure! Sometimes with products like this at such a great price point it's just too good to be true. From what I can tell so far that is not the case with your product. I'm glad I took the gamble!

Thanks for posting the review, I might have to pick up one of these if fitment really is that good.

Obviously I can not speak to product quality consistency, but mine has been great for the hundred miles I've driven it so far. Plus, I didn't have any issues with installation. We could have a legit high value-for-money aftermarket player in the F8X world. I hope this is the case.

Good stuff! Quick question if someone can chime in.

Ive got AA single and car runs awesome. But, I heard that running this actually hurts performance up top because a single 3.5 is smaller then to individual pipes.

Meaning that you will lose HP vs a dual setup.

I'm happy with my setup, it drops weight, sounds good, and top end feels great on my setup. But, just wondering what you guys think. I believe it to be true.

TIA

This is the same design as the Active Autowerke that added 20 whp over the stock setup (dyno posted on their website).

I have not seen any data or dyno showing power being lost from the single midpipe.

You're right, two 2.5" pipes have a total area of 9.818" and a single 3.5" is 9.621". Very minor. The major benefit comes from removing two nearly 90* bends in the first half of the pipe and the secondary cats.

same design for all three.

To be fair, AA were the first ones to offer this design

Got this midpipe paired with ARM catted downpipes and the sound is amazing. Deep rumble tone especially in first and second with valves open and sounds just barely louder than stock in comfort mode

What is this made out of? The first assumption would be stainless steel but there's no mention of it anywhere on the site or here.

I've been enjoying the MAD midpipe! Quick vid below. Nice product. I'm considering the heat exchanger too. Does the code work for that product as well by chance?

Edit: I looked back and see that post was from August lol
