USB Audio Issue

Anyone here use the USB port to play music? I've been playing off a small drive loaded with mp3's since I got the car. Yesterday my M3CS was in for an oil change and a recall of some sort. I guess they updated the idrive version too. Now when playing music off the USB I no longer have an "albums" folder. I used to be able to scroll through all the album covers in alphabetical order but that is totally gone now. This really sucks. Long shot but anyone else experience this? Thanks.

Just reviving this post I made in the hopes that someone has experienced this issue. Can anyone check and see if “Albums” is listed as an option in their menu?

See the option. On both Idrive 4 & 6 when I’ve done a reset the album / track database needed to be relearned. Have about 600 albums/ 9000 tracks so it took a couple of 1 hour commutes before all of the tracks and albums became available.

Damn that’s exactly how mine used to look. What do you mean by reset? Is that when you hold the radio button down for a minute or so? The BMW genius guy had me do that over the phone and it didn’t do anything. Interesting.

More of the process that deletes the all data and resets Idrive , deletes any music ripped to Idrives hard drive . It does mean having to re-enter all of your car personalisations such M1/2 an add phones , seats and mirrors settings etc.

Would pay to back up your drivers profiles to usb first.

This is more of a last resort , but worth a try.

Thank you so much. I’m going to wait and see if I get a reply from this person who had the same issue.
