My 6 year seat badges were starting to crack and look pretty poor. Looking on Ebay new ones seem to be £136 each.......

There is also a guy on cutters/ebay selling replacement vinyl to stick over so I thought I'd give them a go (and also go from silver to black to match the leather).

Followed the Kies Motorsport guide on YouTube to pull the seats apart (a trim removal tool definitely helps with the process) and it took me about 1 hour to complete.

End result 7/10. It's pretty much impossible to put the vinyls over and not have any creases showing as the badge starts to curve over and also if you have any cracks on the existing M logo part of the badge these will show though as the vinyl is cut out for these bits.

Still for £20 it's tidied up most of the badge and looks better.

Not sure about that - it's 3 years out of warranty.

Might be worth asking when they're open again, it was a common problem so may have a puma case for it. If so, they'll replace even if out of warranty.
I can't check for you as my son no longer works for BMW. I'm hoping he goes back to them before my big spark plug service is due though

Maybe you should hint that you will disown him if he doesn't
