There isn't a point to making the OLEDs any brighter though, it would rid of the visual 3D effect they have from up close and at a distance from light saturation.

You do realize that the OLED taillights are a costly and very limited offering? Only offered on ~800 M4 GTS and ~3000 M4cs worldwide? Developing a new OLED light cluster does require a fair bit of development, it is not only a question of squeezing the M4 OLED gear in the F30/80 housing, it has to be made to fit. BMW does not even offer the OLED as an option on the regular M4, most likely because they figure there wouldn't have enough takers given the high price of admission. So why even invest in developing a whole new cluster for the F30/80 ?

Obviously BMW knew it would be unfair to give the M3 CS both OLEDs and 4 doors.
