Always been attracted to track editions so the m4 GTS peaked my interest long ago. When i found one at carmax with their warranty i jumped at it. I still get goosebumps looking at the acid orange roll bar.

1) the precision with which it handles, compared to my xdrive 335
2) M car - all around "M stuff"
3) a great platform to modify
4) 2 doors, a must for me
5) DCT kicks ass
*) the M4 just looks badass

Had an M4 when they first came out. Got bored when the aftermarket was starting up slowly and the ECU was being cracked. Moved on to a Z06. Went a number of different platforms, but once my new baby came, i wanted something that was a true all-around enjoyable ride until I could get a Pcar and the F80 checked all the boxes. Kind of a full-circle experience, but im beginning to drift further away from raw speed to more of a raw, awesome driving experience.

1. The power. Full acceleration can be awesome.
2. The looks. Love the squat, aggressive look.
3. The compliments. Never had so many strangers compliment me on a car. Two days ago someone yelled out his window, "I like your car!"
4. Despite the power, it's still a perfect daily driver with all the creature comforts.

If you already have an RS7, just modify it to make it a huge power highway bruiser, and get a lightweight pure sports car. F80 is great and I loved it, but dedicated sports car in combo with a fast sedan to daily is better than a "do it all" car. just my $0.02
Ha! On our 2016 Euro Delivery I went 168 MPH (271 km/h) on the Autobahn, ran four laps at Nurburgring Nordschleife, did a track day at Circuit Park Zandvoort, and a track day at Spa Francorchamps. I shared my M4 with my wife, who duplicated all of the above as well. We have a Z4 M Roadster as our third car (my wife has a 2018 M3 ZCP, also Euro Delivery). We both track our cars 2-4 times a year.

(Just had to brag and do a little one-upmanship! Your trip sounds amazing and I'm sure that you enjoyed yours as well as I enjoyed ours! Euro Delivery is the only way to get a new BMW!)

I wasn't quite sure with this car until I got camber plates and alignment. Now I am happy to keep the car past warranty.

I had driven a couple F8xs on the street and really liked them up until this point but the day I fell in love and knew I had to have one was the autocross segment of the Performance Driving Center one day school. The way the F8x turns in and is so insanely controllable when the rear end starts to slide really clicked with me immediately. I set the quickest lap time of the day and felt like I could easily keep pushing harder and shaving time off if they had let us continue. It was a great experience and directly lead me to lease my current F80 M3.

After owning an f80, my first m3 for 18 months, here are some of my findings

thoughts:
1. M cars offer a lot more enjoyment as compare to other BMWs. I really should have bought it earlier, if budget is a concern, you can always look at earlier models such as e92/e46, etc

2. maintenance costs can be high, modification costs are even higher. expect to leave some budget to 'play' with the car

Things I like about the m3
1. The look
2. HUD, it's just fantastic that you don't have to look at speed meters when you drive.
3. Handling (including EDC) At first I didn't like it, almost feel the car is too easy to drive until you get used to it, you will learn how to push it further and the car handles so well in fast corners. huge enjoyment
4. Like all other BMWs, it teaches you how to drive better.

things I don't like
1. BMW services, people at the dealership do not offer great services (at least from my experience), I don't even think they love cars as much as we do, Salesperson just wants to sell you cars, and service personnel do not have good knowledge to repair or service cars.

2. there will always be something to 'fix', also it can be difficult to do so, vibrations, strange sounds etc will drive you crazy if you have no idea where it comes from.

I definitely agree it is the complete package. I've owned a 2002 745 Li, and a 2011 535i with X-Drive. Both cars were enjoyed fully, but I've always drooled over M3's and after buying one it is the complete package. It can be driven refined with me acting like a gentleman; or wild like a man in his 20's who can afford all the fuel and maintenance costs with no pressure! I love it. Plus, it totally turns heads.

I had an e90 M3 and a daily. I consolidated both rides and went to the Jeep GC SRT for family purposes.
Missed the manual. No other car has it. 4 door sedan with manual trans and a sunroof- wide stance and enough seating for the family. Awesome!

My wife's mutual female friend draped herself across the hood of my car the first time she saw it; flattering and nerve racking at the same time.

My favorite question I get asked; how fast does it go.

F83 M4.

1. Folding top
2. Back seats
3. Performance

Can't beat the combo for daily driver.
