All cars use a shared monocoque chassis. Like you said engine will not change, all teams use a 4.0L V8.

Got it. So perhaps more interesting is whether BMW RLL will switch next year from their current Z4s in the US sports car series to the M4 and if not next year, will they ever?

Separate topic, but yes, interesting indeed.

Personally, I think that as long as they can continue to use the Z4 body, they will. Why switch as long as it is still in production and they are allowed to race it with the V8?

To keep things on slightly more on topic, US is still tentatively slated to get a DTM/FIA series of its own. Will BMW enter? With an M4? And who will be their competitors?
